Weird: Truth is Stranger than Fiction is a first-person adventure game. You are a nameless protagonist, exploring a series of rooms that detail strange or unexplained exhibits, events and phenomena. You must solve several simple puzzles to open some of the rooms.

The Corridor

You start in a tiled corridor with three doors heading off to the left and right. Go through the first left door, which is the Omega door. Climb up the ladders here and continue through the silver hatch at the very top.

Here Be Monsters

This is a slightly round, vaguely triangular room that is half filled with water. There are various exhibits that you can examine in this room:

  • Flesh-Eating Sponges
  • Beast of Bala Lake
  • Strange Rains
  • Thresher Submarine
  • Sea Serpents
  • The Kraken

Once you are done here, go to the other hatch (with the yellow valve) and open it, then climb down the ladders. Turn around at the bottom, then go forward 5 times. Look at the indentation in the ground, then gradually look deeper by clicking on the different depths on the scale to the right to explore this exhibit:

  • The Money Pit

Click on the exit button to return up to the maze.

Go forward and watch a video using the device at the bottom left. Continue forward again and climb up the ladders, then continue through the hatch at the top.

Arena of the Gods

This is a brick and pillar arena shrouded in mist. There are various exhibits that you can examine in this room:

  • Jersey Devil
  • The Woman with X-Ray Eyes
  • The Yeti
  • Giant Balls of Costa Rica
  • Barbados Vault
  • Silvercliff Graveyard
  • Stone Eater
  • The Yowie

Once you are done here, examine the large seated statue and it will rise up into the air. Enter the passage beneath it and continue through the door at the other end.

The Corridor

You will emerge back into the corridor through the Phi door. Go forward and slightly right to go through the middle door on the opposite wall, which is the Sigma door.

Windowed Corridor

This long corridor has a stone floor and is lined by windows on the left and right. As you proceed along the corridor, examine the doors at each end, and the windows on each side to see the following exhibits:

  • Fish in the Tree
  • Flixborough Blast
  • Aberfan
  • Grateful Dead
  • Beast of Barriesdale
  • Champ

Once you are done here, continue through the doors at the far end of the corridor. Here you need to play a game of Simple Simon, pressing the colored panels in the same order as you see them glowing (up to a series of 11 in a row). Once you succeed, press the green button that is revealed, and you will be teleported to a new location.

Cryogenic Chamber
