Getting Started

Left Terminal

Enter any password and press enter to log in to your terminal. Type any letters to have a conversation with Sarah and Viktor. After the conversation is over, turn to the right.

Field Kit

Type the thought words that are displayed, and you will open the field kit. Turn to the left.

Right Terminal

Type the following series of commands:

• help: this will show you a list of possible commands
• probe: this will list the local devices, including the field kit; pay attention to the field kit's Unique Machine Number (UMN), which is a random 4-digit number
• connect UMN: replace the UMN parameter with the field kit's UMN
• 3: this attempts to copy files from the field kit, but it will fail and give you a hint on how to fix this
• 5: this will back out of the field kit connection
• cd tools/HoleMounter: this will change the active directory
• nano trusted_devices.data: this will open an editor; add an extra line in the list of trusted devices, adding in the field kit UMN from earlier, then press Ctrl-X and Y to save the file
• connect UMN: replace the UMN parameter with the field kit's UMN
• 3: this will now successfully copy the files from the field kit

Back out and turn left again.

Left Terminal

Look at the conversation you have missed, and Sarah will ask you to get an ID from the config. Back out and look to the right.

Right Terminal

Type the following series of commands:

• cd ..: this goes back up one directory
• cd ..: this goes back up one directory
• cd emulated/UMN: replace the UMN parameters with the field kit's UMN; this takes you to where you saw all those files being copied earlier
• cd config: this takes you to the configuration folder
• ls: this lists the files in the configuration folder
• open system_config.json: this displays the file you are looking for

Back out and turn left again.

Left Terminal

Type any letters to continue the conversation with Sarah and Viktor, during which you will receive 2 more files. Pay attention to the ref input number given by Sarah. After the conversation is over, turn to the right.

Right Terminal

Type the following series of commands:

• cd ..: this goes back up one directory
• cd ..: this goes back up one directory
• cd ..: this goes back up one directory
• cd downloads: this takes you to where you just received files
• ls: this lists the files in the downloads folder
• open AuthKeygen.exe: this opens the key generation program
• 1: this tries to generate an authorization token, but you don't have the correct data yet
• 3: this shows the documentation for the key generation program; pay attention to the K-COM entry, which shows the 3 pieces of information you need to collect
• 4: this exits the key generation program

Collecting Data

Right Terminal

Type the following series of commands:

• ls: this lists the files in the downloads folder
• open Schematic_09.asc: this opens the document sent by Viktor; there should be two servers that aren't marked as out of order; write down the 8-digit server address for either of these two servers
• open AUI_2068.cve: this opens the document sent by Sarah; there should be multiple inmates that have N/A written in the last two columns; write down the 6-digit inmate number for any of these inmates
• open AuthKeygen.exe: this opens the key generation program
• 2: this allows you to enter the three pre-requisite arguments; now you need to type the three numbers you have gathered, separated by commas (server address, inmate number, ref input number)
• 1: this generates an authorization token
• 4: this exits the key generation program

Authorization

Right Terminal

Type the following series of commands:

• connect UMN: replace the UMN parameter with the field kit's UMN
• 1: this connects to the remote server

Back out and turn left again.

Left Terminal

Type any letters to continue the conversation with Sarah and Viktor. Once the conversation is over, there are two ways to complete the game:

• Type all of the thought words that are displayed Trust
• Don't type any of the words that are displayed Induced

After completing one ending, you can just select Continue from the game menu to play the final part again.
