Foyer
Read the note in your inventory. Go forward to find some drawers on the right. Open the top drawer and read the newspaper inside. Look around at the portraits on the walls - one of them doesn't have a name beneath it, and by trial and error you can deduce this is Vincent. Turn around to see a bookshelf that contains colored books where each letter corresponds to a color. Examine the puzzle beneath Vincent's portrait and change the colors as follows:
The name plate will come out and you can take a clock hand from the side. Open the drawers just to the right, and take a green lion tile from the bottom drawer. Lift up the moon painting over the drawers to see a clue about 3 discs.
Go up the stairs and take a blue lion tile from a frame on the wall to the left. Lift up the moon painting on the right to see another clue about 3 discs. While you are here look at the puzzle beneath the portrait of Emma and Augustus, which refers to the lights around the ground floor. Set the switches around the puzzle according to the lights that are on downstairs:
The large portrait will lift up showing a compass rose with a dotted path on it (middle, west, south, east, north). Go back downstairs and look at the picture over the locked chest. The compass directions match to a series of locations on this picture. Turn around and go over to the series of candles on a table on the opposite side of the room, which have a series of images on their bases. Place the candles in order according to the locations on the picture in the order from the compass rose:
- Middle: Manor
- West: Maze
- South: Gate
- East: Forest
- North: Sea
Note the heights of the candles in order, then go back to the chest. Open it with the combination 25324. Take out a red lion tile. Next head to the series of clocks on the right wall. When you approach, you will automatically attach the missing clock hand. Now you need to adjust the clock hands based on the clues you have available. The two hands gradually move down as you go from left to right, and the colors swap sides:
- First Clock: Red hand at 10, blue hand at 2
- Second Clock: Blue hand at 9, red hand at 3
- Third Clock: Red hand at 8, blue hand at 4
- Fourth Clock: Blue hand at 7, red hand at 5
Take the yellow lion tile. Now look around to see a series of 4 shields on the walls, three of which contain a series of colored lion tiles, and one that is empty. Look at the positions of the various colors in the 3 completed shields, then insert your tiles to complete the series:
A bookcase on the other side of the foyer will now move, revealing a passage Interesting.... Head through to a new area.
Kitchen
Look in the 2 sets of drawers on the right to see they contain 3 forks, 4 knives, 5 spoons and 0 teacups. Next look at the tray in the bottom of the serving trolley to see colors associated with each of these items. Go to the cooker and set the dials to 5, 0, 3 and 4. The oven door will open, so you can take out a notebook. From this you can work out the cost of various items:
- Egg: $2
- Chick: $9
- Chicken: $6
- Roast Chicken: $4
Go over to the wall that has 4 plates on shelves that match the symbols on the notebook. Arrange this in order from left to right in terms of timing (egg, chick, chicken, roast chicken). Now look at the cabinet with the combination lock. Enter the costs of the 4 objects in reverse order, based on the hourglass symbols above and below the lock: 4692.
Next open the series of low white cupboards along the left wall to see a series of 3 clues with Greek symbols. Find the hanging pans with Greek symbols and arrange them according to these rules from left to right:
- Epsilon
- Gamma
- Alpha
- Delta
- Beta
This will cause the far right cupboard to open. Go there and read the note inside. Also read a note in the right cupboard beneath the hanging pans. Now find the name plates on the wall and arrange them in the correct order according to the information you have just gathered:
- Vincent
- Emma
- Augustus
- Charles
- Amelia
Now some new dials will appear beneath the name plates. Open the glass cabinet to the left and take out a notebook that talks about different types of tea. Using this information, as well as the symbols on the tea pots and the map on the wall, set the dials as follows from left to right:
- Galway (bottom right)
- London (bottom left)
- Glasgow (top left)
- Sunderland (top)
- Birmingham (top right)
Additional wine cupboards will now open. If you compare the bottom sections, you can see that each color on the left turns into a different color on the right. Set the main section of the right wine cupboard as follows:
A secret door opens between the wine cupboards Tea time!. Head through to a new area.
Vincent's Room
Open the top drawer against the left wall to see a note about black notes being worth 1 and white notes being worth 2. Now examine the music sheets on the table in the corner of the room. Count up the values for each Roman numeral:
- I: 6
- II: 3
- III: 9
- IV: 8
Go to the wardrobe in the opposite corner of the room and open it with the combination 6398. There is a music box inside. Go back to the table and use the metronome 3 times - it will tick 2 times, 4 times and 7 times before resetting. Examine the 3 clocks on the wall and turn the dials to point to 2, 4 and 7. Take the key that is revealed. This will allow you to open the locked chest on the floor. Read the letter inside, paying attention to the list of places mentioned. Find a series of matching photographs on the opposite wall and place them in order according to the letter:
- Train
- River
- Beach
- Mountains
- Forest
Note the numbers of stars on each picture frame, and the instruments on the wall above them. Now play the music box in the wardrobe you opened earlier and count the numbers of notes (5, 3, 2, 4, 2, 1). Go to the piano and press the buttons in order according to the pictures you just rearranged, and the notes you just heard:
- Xylophone (5)
- Harp (3)
- Violin (2)
- Drum (4)
- Violin (2)
- Recorder (1)
The lid of the piano will now open. Examine the puzzle inside. There is a clue in a picture frame on the wall that indicates that you should start by rotating the central hexagon so that the blue symbol points upwards. Now rotate the other hexagons so that matching symbols are adjacent. The front of the piano will now open. The writing on the piano now indicates that you should play notes from the chords corresponding to C, A, G, E and D, and choose specific notes based on the colored discs. Find the correct keys to play from the sheets of paper on the wall behind you. If the white keys are number 1 to 7 from left to right, play keys 1, 3, 2, 3 and 4.
A nearby door opens The plot thickens. Head through to a dark corridor, then into the next lit room.
Dining Room
Read a letter on the bottom of the serving trolley, which gives clues about who sits at each place at the dining table. Next look at the portraits on the wall and note the small symbols next to the names on the plaques. Examine the dining table and adjust the plates as follows:
- Top Left: Spiral (Vincent)
- Bottom Left: Star (Amelia)
- Top Middle: Lightning (Charles)
- Bottom Middle: Water Drop (Emma)
- Far Right: Hourglass (Augustus)
A hidden panel will open beneath the dining table. Go to the clock on the wall and examine it. There are 4 buttons around the edge that control the 4 hands on the clock. Based on the clue beneath the dining table, plus the number of lines on each of the clock hands, set the 4 hands on the clock as follows:
- Filled Square: Point to 5 (3+2)
- Filled Diamond: Point to 1 (2-1)
- Hollow Diamond: Point to 8 (4+4)
- Filled Hexagon: Point to 3 (6-3)
The clock will move, revealing the next clue, which relates to dots and arrows. Turn around and approach the far bookcase. Based on the clue you just saw, a dot to the left of the arrow in a shelf turns it counter-clockwise, and a dot to the right of the arrow turns it clockwise. From top to bottom, you should therefore turn the arrows as follows:
- Right
- Right
- Down
- Left
- Down
Take the red book that appears. Examine the guns on the wall. Each of the single guns has a 4-digit model number, and each gun also appears in the middle frame. The combination is based on the first digit from the first gun, second from the second gun, and so on. Enter the combination 4476. Take the medal that is revealed from behind the large frame. Go to the large disc on the wall, which has 4 concentric rings. Examine the medal to see that its shape matches the shape on the left of the middle of this puzzle, and 2 of the 4 crosses on the medal's ribbon have markings on one side. You need to adjust the rings on the puzzle to match these. Set the rings so that the symbols on the left are as follows:
- Outer Ring: Square
- Second Ring: U-shape
- Third Ring: Square
- Inner Ring: C-shape
Take a photograph from inside the small chest that opens. Look at the order of people in the photograph, then look at the colors at the corners of the portraits on the wall. Based on these, approach the final bookcase and you will automatically insert your red book. Rearrange the order of the books based on the photograph and picture frames:
A nearby door opens Table manners. Head through to another dark corridor, then into the next lit room.
Amelia's Room
Examine the telescope to see that it has 3 distinct sections, each with a color, number of lines, and angle. Go to the set of 3 high bookshelves and count the number of books with matching colors and lines. Now return to the telescope and set the angles as follows:
- Blue: 180 degrees
- Pink: 135 degrees
- Yellow: 270 degrees
Look through the telescope to see a pattern of stars. Turn to the grid of small boxes on the left wall and adjust them to match the pattern of stars:
The bottom drawer of the dresser will now open, revealing 3 shapes (rectangle, circle, diamond). You need to count the number of each shape amongst the items on the dresser:
- Rectangles: 5 (large gems, books)
- Circles: 8 (rings, glasses)
- Diamonds: 4 (small gems)
Now you can take the diary from the top drawer and read it. Next go over to the large chest with a combination lock. As you examine it, you will look up at the picture of stars on the wall. You need to count the number of stars with each different number of points:
- 1 star has 6 points
- 2 stars have 4 points
- 3 stars have 5 points
- 4 stars have 3 points
Open the chest with the combination 6453. Look at the cover of the green book in the chest, which has 4 separate patterns of lines. Go over to the group of 4 star charts on the wall with 4 keypads beneath. You need to identify the coordinates where the lines on the cover of the green book meet in each of the associated star charts. Enter the following coordinates on the keypads: D3, C2, C4, B5. The left wardrobe door will now open, and you can take a note from inside.
Head over to the calendar on the wall. Using the dates from the diary, find the moon phases from the calendar, then click the correct Greek button below based on the note:
- May 2: Zeta (3rd button)
- May 7: Beta (2nd button)
- May 18: Delta (4th button)
- May 28: Alpha (1st button)
- May 29: Delta (4th button)
Take the key and use it to unlock the chest in the corner of the room. Look at the card inside the chest. The numbers refer to letters from each line of the poster on the wall above the bed. Enter the word LIES into the right wardrobe door.
The back of the wardrobe is a false door Reach for the stars. Head through to a new area.
Recreation Room
Look at the round carpet in the middle of the room. There are 4 pairs of circles, and you need to pay attention to the shapes in which the pairs of filled and empty circles are located. Find a framed puzzle on a wall in the corner of the room and set the 4 silver knobs to the correct locations to indicate this:
A small bookcase will open on the wall just to the left. Further to the left, pick up a die from on top of some drawers, and take a tile from inside the top drawer. Next head over towards the fireplace. There are 2 rocking chairs with pairs of symbols on them. Examine the chest and you will automatically add the missing tile. Now move the tiles around so that the central 4 corners create symbols matching those on the rocking chairs. Once the chest opens, take out a trophy.
Go to the poker table, and you will see 5 blue water drops on the side of one of the chairs. Find a round puzzle on the wall in one of the corners of the room. Adjust this so that the blue, water drop, and 5 are all lined up at the top, then take a playing card from the middle of the puzzle. Go back and look at the cards on the poker table. Based on the playing card you just found, this corresponds with this order:
- White pawn on white square
- White king on black square
- White knight on white square
- White pawn on black square
- Black king on black square
Go over to the chess board and touch these 5 pieces in the correct order. The board will flip over revealing a maze - pay attention to the order in which the solution passes through the 5 symbols. These symbols are also seen on the books in the small bookcase that opened earlier. Now go to the picture of race horses on the wall - you need to adjust the order based on the order of symbols in the maze:
- Music (M)
- Science (S)
- History (H)
- Art (A)
- Language (L)
Look down into the drawer that opens to see a series of dice. You need to work out which faces are on the bottom of these dice (4, 1, 5, 2, 3). Go to the trophies over the fireplace, and you will insert the missing one. Now arrange them in the order you just discovered: 4, 1, 5, 2, 3.
The fireplace will open, revealing a hidden passage No time for games. Head up the stairs and around into a new area.
Augustus' Office
Go to the desk and read the journal to see a list of names and meeting times. Open the top left desk drawer to see a blue note with some letters on it. Now go to the framed guns on the wall. Each of the dates below the guns corresponds with a meeting time from the journal, and the blue note indicates the directions to turn the guns:
- 1822: Mr D, point up
- 1835: Mr E, point down
- 1842: Mr H, point left
- 1851: Mr F, point down
- 1859: Mr G, point right
A chart will now rise up behind the machine with 5 colored knobs. You can also flip this chart over to see a different chart on the back. You need to consider each color in turn. Multiple the number at the bottom of the bar chart value by its height to get a value for that color. Flip the chart over and see the vertical height for that value, then move the knob to the matching position. Repeat for all 5 colors:
Next head to the large bank of small drawers. Open the drawer in the top row, second from the far left, and look at the symbols on it. The basically tell you that each circle is worth 3, and each line is worth -1. Look at the tall pillar to the right of the exit door to see 5 similar symbols, each with different values from top to bottom. If these equate to the lit windows in the picture to the left, the values are as follows:
Look at the plaque beneath the picture and enter the code as if you were reading the numbers from left to right: 41254. Take a piece of paper from behind the picture. Examine the map on the wall - the shapes on the piece of paper you just collected match up with the shapes of areas on the map. If you draw lines between the groups of 4 areas you will end up with various diagrams, and these correspond to diagrams on a group of 5 buttons on the desk. You need to press the buttons on the desk in the order of the diagrams described on the piece of paper. If the buttons are numbered 1-5 from left to right, press them in this order: 5, 2, 1, 3, 5.
The map on the wall will rise up, revealing some shapes containing animal figures. Now you need to use the information in this shapes, as well as the animal heads on the wall and the series of smaller shapes beneath them. For each of the 6 small shape sections, you need to find the animal that only appears in those shapes. Interact with the heads in this order: wolf, lion, deer, bear, leopard, wolf.
Both of the bottom desk drawers are now open, and both contain blue pages with boxes and crosses. Go over to the large bank of small drawers. Close the one that is still open, then open the ones marked with crosses on the 2 blue pages (marked as lighter boxes below):
A new secret passage will open The truth is close. Go back down the previous stairs, then continue down a long straight staircase and through a door into a new area.

Read the letter on the desk. Look back at your previous letters to find that the butler's name was Mark. Enter MARK into the puzzle box on the desk. Take the ring, which has a series of musical symbols around the outside. Look at the musical symbols on the wall - a single circle means to leave one space between positions on the ring, and a double circle means to leave two spaces. The top row of symbols on the wall is complete, and you must indicate the missing symbols on the bottom row. The correct symbols are:
- Bass clef
- Alto clef
- Crotchet rest

Go out towards the corridor and you will see 5 numbers, with a circle on the floor and a star on the ceiling. Pay attention to where the numbers are located, from floor up to ceiling, then go and adjust the sticky notes as follows:
Now go and take a clue from beneath the pillow on the bed. This shows a series of 5 figures along the bottom (either curved or straight), as well as pairs of symbols for each color. You need to choose either the curved or straight figure for each of the 5 colored sticky notes in order, then press the matching button on the wall to the left of the sticky notes. Press the buttons in this order:
This will open up another new room. Here there are 5 dials that related to the number of groups of 5 chalk markings around various objects in the main room. Based on the clues on the left wall, you need to turn the dials to point to one of these objects:
- A: Lantern (8)
- B: Piano (6)
- C: Door (10)
- D: Bed (5)
- E: Chair (12)
