Secret Mission is a third person adventure set in Opalia, a small fictional kingdom in south-east Asia in the 1950s. You play as Jeff, a double agent, who is ambushed on arrival in Opalia and wakes up with amnesia. You must find your place in the struggle between the USSR and USA, who have competing interests in the territory.

Arrival

Black Lotus Hotel

When the phone rings, answer it. Pick up the bottle of chloroform from the bed, the ashtray from the coffee table, and the towel from the wash basin. Look at the painting on the wall near the wash basin, which has the caption "Rise of the Nile 1883". Now leave the room and you will meet up with Natasha. Answer her questions however you like, and you will end up having lunch.

Talk to the man at the reception desk and ask for your messages, then head upstairs to your room. Open the envelope and look at the negatives to see there is one of a pyramid. Leave your room again, then leave the hotel. Choose any place for the rickshaw to take you, but you will end up at Hinson Park.

Hinson Park

Walk down to the right and talk to Coyote. Pick a white rose from the bush at the bottom left before leaving to the right.

Doctor Stone's Office

Talk to the secretary, then read the newspaper on the table. Next look at the sheet of paper on the side of the bookcase to see a list of passwords. Examine the vase of flowers on the secretary's desk. In your inventory, use the chloroform on the white rose. As long as the waiting room is empty, give the white rose to the secretary and she will pass out. Head through the doorway to enter the doctor's office. Talk to him about his secretary and he will leave the room. Take the stethoscope and blue ink from the desk - also look at the photo of the secretary on his desk. Now leave.

Black Lotus Hotel

Use the negative in your inventory on the painting on the wall. Move it to the very top left, then move it right 12 times and down 12 times to reveal a hidden message. As you go to leave your room, a cobra will appear. Walk towards it and use the towel to cover it, then use the ashtray to kill it. Now you can safely leave the room.

Hinson Park

Walk to the bush where the assassin was hiding earlier, and pick up the dragon coin.

Dragon Club

Talk to the old man on the left and buy the necklace for $100, then ask him about the spear. Now head inside the club. Talk to the barman to get some information - you will need $500 to bribe Salaam to get into the palace.

Colonel Vishaka's Palace

Talk to Salaam, one of the guards at the front gate, then offer him money, but he cannot let you inside.

Dragon Club

Go inside and talk to the barman again. Talk to the man on the left and ask for $500, then ask him about the room. Now go to the man in the corner and give him the dragon coin, then go through the doorway.

After hearing about the game, save your game. You start with $100, and need to end up with over $1000. If you just keep betting on the right gate (number 4) you will eventually win enough. Leave here and talk to the barman, then give him the money.

Colonel Vishaka's Palace

You will now be playing at the barman. Go between the guards at the gate, then enter the main building. Go left once you are inside. Take the tip from one of the spears on the wall, then return through the doorway and head right. Look at the marble statue and the bookcase - when you hear voices, go and stand in the dark corner in the top right of the room. You will see Vishaka place his necklace around the marble statue to open a secret passage. Leave the palace and you will return to the club.

Dragon Club

You will be playing as Jeff again - the barman will give you the spear tip. Head into the gaming room again and save your game. You start with $500-$900, and need to end up with over $1000 again. If you just keep betting on the right gate (number 4) you will eventually win enough. Head outside the club.

Give the spear tip to the old man and you will get a phone number.

Black Lotus Hotel

Head up to your room. Use the telephone to call Ingleton. Now leave the hotel again.

Infiltration

Ingleton's House

Go up the steps, then over to the right, and talk to Ingleton about everything. After he is shot, pick up the knife from the table. Walk up to see the gardens, and 3 men will start shooting at you. Walk back down and then left. Use the knife to break the lock on the trunk, then open the trunk and take out some cartridges. Close the trunk, then take the rifle from the wall. Just to the left, take the jungle outfit from the side wall. Play the instrument here 3 times, then pick up a tiger tooth from the floor.

Return right, and look at the small painting on the wall, then open it to reveal a safe. Use your stethoscope on the safe. Turn each of the dials until you hear a loud sound. Once all 3 are correct, the safe will open and you will take out a map. Walk up towards the garden again. Shoot each of the 3 men, then walk up into the gardens and right to the hut in the distance.

Enter the hut and walk to the right, then pick up the mallet. Head back out to the veranda and use the mallet on the gong to summon Mansour. Talk to him multiple times, then show him the tiger tooth - unfortunately it is broken, so you will need another one or a blue parrot feather.

Black Lotus Hotel

Ask the man at reception for your key. While he is distracted, try to take the bird, then go and pick up the white parrot feather. In your inventory, combine this with the blue ink to make a blue parrot feather.

Ingleton's House

Go all the way out the back again and use the mallet on the gong to summon Mansour. Show him the blue parrot feather. Talk to him again, but now you need to find a motorbike.

Dragon Club

Go inside. Talk to the man on the left, then give him $1000 for his motorbike. Go back outside and use the key on the motorbike.

Bridge

Go to the broken bridge and take the plank that is hanging from the rope. Walk between the trees in the background. Look at the base of the tallest tree to see a parchment. Pick up a log from beneath the tree to the right of this one. Go to the end of the road, just before the gap, and use the log here. Use your plank on the log. Now use the motorbike.

After the crash, walk to the bridge again to talk to Mansour. Leave by heading to the left.

Thugnots

Jungle

Head left past the totem pole to reach a sandy area with grass on the right and palm trees in the background. Head directly left from here. You are looking for a screen that has more pale palm trees in the background, and dense bush on the right. Once you find this screen, head left along the middle dirt path (not the main exit near the bottom or the very small path at the top).

Head right behind the plane and then up until you reach a waterfall. Continue left until you are just past the waterfall, then return right and you will fall down into the water.

Dive down to the bottom and go right. Continue right through the next screen, staying near the bottom. On the next screen, swim up through the broken floor and continue right, then swim up into the air pocket towards the right to get some air. Return left, down through the broken floor and then right. Swim down onto the coffin until you hear a noise and see bubbles of air rising up, then return left, up and right to the air pocket again. Now swim left and through the gate that opens, then swim up to the surface.

Walk around the water and behind the large rock on the right until you find a box of matches you can pick up. Now head up through the narrow opening between the rocks. In the map below you start at C (cave) and should make your way to V (village):

Village

Wait until there are no guards around, then walk into the village. Head straight down to the hedge and take it to get some camouflage. Now you can walk around the village - when you are still, nobody will be able to see you, so make sure you only move when guards are facing or moving away from you. Head around in front of the central hut on this screen and take a banana from the banana tree. When it is safe to do so, enter the hut. Look at the statue here and notice the symbols below it. Head back outside.

Go to the right, so you are behind the building on the right, then walk down until you can overhear Vishaka talking to the Thugnots. After you have heard everything, make your way into the hut at the far top left of the area. Pick up a log from the pile and put it on the fire. Repeat this until you can see the symbols below the statue. Go back outside, then enter the hut in the middle of the top area. Give the banana to the gorilla, then examine the statue and take note of the symbols. Return outside then head right.

Enter the large building in the middle, which is a classroom. Here you can work out how to translate some of the symbols you have seen - each symbol is equivalent to two letters. Also take note of the long word at the top of the blackboard - KICEKITAMACE. Go back outside and head left twice to find a large blue statue. Walk up the stairs to the door, then examine the lock mechanism to the right. Now you need to adjust the symbols to match the word on the blackboard. From left to right they are as follows:

  • V with a stripe
  • W with a tail
  • V with a stripe
  • B with a dot
  • T with low curves
  • W with a tail

Now you can enter the statue. After falling down, take the necklace from the statue - a gate will open on the left. Take a pamphlet from the open crate on the right, then use this on the barrel just to the left. Use your box of matches on the barrel, then quickly go through the gate on the left. In the map below you start at G (gate) and should make your way to C (clearing):

Pull the short red roots and a club will fall down. Pick up the club, then return right. Now on the map go from C (clearing) to N (Nawi). Talk to Nawi the hermit. Head out to the beach and try to reach the canoe, but the dog will block you. Return into the cave and talk to Nawi until he agrees to give you the canoe (just keep selecting the first conversation option). You will automatically give him the motorbike keys. Give him the club in exchange for his paddle. Now you can head out to the canoe and use the paddle on it.

Jetty

Head left into the building and you will recover your clothes and belongings. You will now return to town.

Conclusion

Black Lotus Hotel

Talk to the man at the reception desk and ask for your messages, then head upstairs to your room. Read the message, which says "Miami beats Dallas 37-18". Use the phone to dial the number 1837. After the conversation, leave the hotel.

"The Virtuous Way" Restaurant

You will meet up with Natasha for another conversation.

Hinson Park

Talk to Coyote to receive $1000. Pick another white rose from the bottom left, then talk to the doctor's secretary. In your inventory, use the chloroform on the white rose. Give the white rose to the secretary and she will pass out again. Search her body, then take the keys.

Doctor Stone's Office

Go to the doctor's room and read the telegram on the desk. Use your keys to unlock the desk drawer, then look at the paper inside and note the numbers of each colored chemical in the image (4 red, 2 blue, 1 yellow). Now go to the shelves along the far wall - there are red and blue chemicals, but no yellow chemical.

Dragon Club

Go inside, then head down to the gaming room. Talk to the man hear, and you will end up pushing him into the water. Use the canoe.

Colonel Vishaka's Palace

Head through the doorway to leave this room, then go right. Quickly place your necklace around the marble statue, then go through the secret passage. Pick up the Papy-Goyo barrel from the table on the left. Try to pick up the statue and listen to the 4 musical notes that are played. Go to the organ and play the same 4 notes, which are G, D, E, C (from the left, these are the 3rd, 7th, 8th and 6th notes). After a musical interlude, take the small parchment from inside the organ. Leave this room, then go left and use the secret passage on the right.

Dragon Club

Leave the gaming room, then leave the club.

Doctor Stone's Office

Go to the doctor's room again and use your barrel on the shelves. Now create a mixture as follows:

  • 4 drops of red chemical
  • 2 drops of blue chemical
  • 1 drop of yellow chemical

Pour this mixture into the glass on the right. Take the glass in your inventory to drink the mixture and your memory will return.

US Embassy

Answer the question with "Yes". You will automatically travel to your final destination.

Elephants

Watch carefully as the elephants respond to the elephant keeper, then wait for him to leave. Look at the parchment you got from the palace, which says "A bomb... the King's elephant... 3pm 12pm 7pm". Approach the left elephant by climbing up the red steps, and say these commands:

  • Houngawa timba
  • Hounka kapa

Now you have access to the bomb. You must defuse it by following these steps:

  • When the black needle is in the yellow section, pull the pin at the 3 o'clock position
  • When the black needle is in the green section, pull the pin at the 12 o'clock position
  • When the black needle is in the red section, pull the pin at the 7 o'clock position
