Play With Me is a first-person escape room adventure. You play as investigative journalist Robert Hawk, on the trail of elusive serial killer. After a car crash you awaken trapped within an elaborate series of puzzle rooms designed by the killer, and must play his game to escape and survive.

General Information

The game codes and item locations are randomized in the game. Restarting a level or a completely new game will change these values each time. When you find fragments of codes, the plus signs indicate whether other parts of the code exist that go before or after the part you have found. For example if you find the code fragments 12+, +345+ and +67, the complete code is 1234567.

You will find several syringes throughout the game - use them when your life bar at the top right gets low.

Rooms 1-5

Locker Room

Click on the glowing inscription, then move your mouse around until you find a ??? region and click it. There will be a piece of paper you can look at, which has a numeric code that is quite hard to make out. Click on the code panel between your hands and enter the code from the piece of paper.

Pick up the matches, key, cloth and phone. Also make sure you examine the newspaper article, poster, picture of Sara and Dictaphone. Light a match and move it around to light up some darker areas, particularly on the right. You can also use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out. Read the note (1/14) that you find in the darkness.

Examine the phone in your inventory to see that it needs a PIN. Use your key to unlock the chest, then take out the bottle from inside. There is a valve to the right of the door that you can turn to close. Use your cloth on the blood near the door and you will revel a numeric code. Use this on the phone to unlock it. Try to use the phone to dial 112 to call the police 112. Next examine the phone's notepad to see another numeric code. Use this on the keypad next to the door. Slide the door open and head through.

Freezer

You will freeze if you take too long to get some heat into this room. Light a match and use it to light the candle, and click on the thermometer next to it. Now use your bottle on the brazier, then light it with a match.

Slide open a locker door on the right and take out a key from inside. Use this to unlock the chest and take the syringe from inside. Click on the Dictaphone to hear a message. Use a match on the spider hiding to the far right Spider. There is a note (2/14) in the darkness. Examine the other piece of paper in the darkness here and zoom in on it to find a numeric code. Enter this into the other chest to open it.

Drag the large crate to the right to reveal part of a code. Look at the blood on the floor to see another part of a code. Look in the chest you just opened to find another part of a code. Look behind the candle you lit earlier fr the last part of a code. Enter the total code into the keypad next to the door. Slide the door open and head through.

Crime Scene

Pick up the shoe from the floor on the left Shoe. Pick up the ultraviolet light and the key. Now that you have this, go back twice to reach the starting room.

Locker Room

Use your ultraviolet light on the lockers to reveal a sign of illusion (1/6). Now go forward twice to return to the crime scene.

Crime Scene

Read the note (3/14) on the pillar. Use your ultraviolet light on the pillar to reveal a sign of illusion (2/6). Move the pieces of wood in the right corner of the room, then flip the switch to activate power to the computer. Move the jar in the bookshelves to reveal a piece of paper, then look at it to see the code "abcc1". Use your cloth to clean the marks of the pillar to reveal part of a code. Use your ultraviolet light on the back of the computer to see the word "admin".

Click on the computer, then press the power button at the bottom left. Use the bottom right button to select Calibrate, then adjust it so both values are 0. Now enter the login details for the computer:

  • Username: admin
  • Password: (abcc1 + numbers from pillar) Hacker

Follow the instructions on the computer. If you type "cat data.txt" you will get part of a numeric code. Use your ultraviolet light on the brick wall to see the other part of the code. Enter the total into the keypad next to the door. While you are still in the room, use your key on the chest. You will receive a phone call from Patrick. Pick up the magnifying glass from the chest.

If you want to save Patrick, use the computer again and type "cat clark.txt". When you back out from the computer, you will get another phone call from Patrick, and you will give him the code he needs.

Slide the door open and head through.

Operating Theater

Use a match to light the candle on the floor Birthday candle. Read the note (4/14) on the wall, which talks about the "Green Feed". Use your ultraviolet light to search the room and find a syringe and a battery. Use the battery on the phone to charge it. Also search in the darkness to find another note (5/14) and a newspaper article. You will also find a teddy bear (1/6) in the dark shelves on the right.

Move the trolley and examine the colorful note - each symbol here is a number or letter with its mirror image. Use the code from this to open the suitcase on the floor. take out the knife from the suitcase. Go back to the previous room.

Crime Scene

Use the knife to cut down the teddy bear (2/6) hanging from the ceiling on the left. Go forward through the door to return to the operating theater.

Operating Theater

Read the note near the candle to see the first part of a code. Use the knife on the body and drag it to the right, then take the knife back again. Examine the body and slide the bag to the right to reveal the other part of a code. Enter the total code into the keypad next to the door. Slide the door open and head through.

Doll Room

Move each of the pictures on the wall until you find a key to take. Search the darkness to find a note (6/14). Also use either your matches or ultraviolet light on the clown at the bottom right Clown.

Click on the scraps of paper and rearrange them to get a code containing 6 numbers/letters. Move the bird on the stand to power on the computer. Click on the computer, then press the power button at the bottom left. Use the bottom right button to select Calibrate, then adjust it so both values are 0. Now enter the login details for the computer:

  • Username: admin
  • Password: (code from scraps of paper)

Follow the instructions on the computer. Back out from the computer. Use your cloth on the mirror to reveal part of a code. Now save your game. Use the key on the chest and take out the battery. In your inventory use this on the torch. Now use the torch and the doll will wake up Chuck. You need to quickly click on the doll multiple times as it runs between the side of the chest and the side of the desk. Eventually it will stop. There is a note with a part of a code next to the desk, and another one next to the chair. Enter the total code into the keypad next to the door. Slide the door open and head through.

Rooms 6-10

Spider Room

You will receive a phone call from Illusion. Read the latest message on your phone. Slide the dark egg to the right and you will see an arrow revealed behind it. Touch the cobweb of the spider that the arrow indicates, then take the golden key that is revealed behind the spider. Use the key on the chest to open it. Look at the partial code inside the chest. Use your ultraviolet light to examine the pillar to see the other partial code.

If you want to save Sara, examine your phone again and enter the full code into the Riddle app.

Explore the darkness on the left to find a note (7/14). Turn the valve on the right to close it. Use your ultraviolet light on the large pipe on the floor to see a numeric code. Enter this code into the keypad next to the door. Slide the door open and head through.

Crossword Room

If you saved Patrick, you will get a call from him. Collect the teddy bear (3/8) on the right, then read the note (8/14) behind it. Search the darkness on the left with your ultraviolet light to uncover a sign of illusion (3/6). Turn the valve on the left to close it. Now look around the walls to find a series of three 3-letter words. Enter each of these into the keypad next to the door (it will indicate each time you get one correct). Slide the door open and head through.

Furnace Room

Pick up the lighter and battery. Read the newspaper on the wall. Turn off all 3 valves that you can find. Search the darker areas to find a teddy bear (5/8). Use your knife to cut down the key hanging on the right, then use this to open the chest on the left. Look at the numeric code inside. Enter this code into the keypad next to the right door. Slide the door open and head through.

Spike Trap

You will be crushed if you take too long to disable the spike trap in this room. Slide open the yellow box on the wall to the left, and slide open the grate near the floor on the left. Combine the 2 numeric codes you find in this places. Enter the total code into the right keypad to disable the spike trap. Read the note (9/14) and the newspaper on the wall. Pick up the battery from the floor.

There was a hidden website link in one of the game's promotional video trailers that led to the website http://playwithmegame.com/hidden. On this website you are shown the numeric code ?43?. Use your ultraviolet light in the bottom left corner of the room to see a long series of numbers. The other part of the numeric code is the central 2 digits of this long series. Enter the code 43-- filling in the second part from the digits you just saw, and you will unlock the other keypad here. Slide the door open and head through.

Secret Room

If you saved Patrick, you will get a call from him when you enter the room Robert & Patrick secret. Search around to find a teddy bear (5/8) in the darkness. Back out of the room.

Spike Trap

Read the note on the right wall to see a partial numeric code. Now back out of the room.

Furnace Room

The lights will go out and Illusion will be here. You need to quickly shine the torch on him multiple times until he leaves you alone. Examine the note he drops to see a partial numeric code. You need to combine this with the one you just saw in the Spike Trap room. Enter the total code into the keypad next to the door. Slide the door open and head through.

Clown Room

Shine your torch on the clown sitting in the chair - every time it goes out, shake it quickly to turn it back on. Eventually the clown will leave, and a note will be left on the chair, containing a partial numeric code. Use your cloth to clean some dirt from the wall beneath the dumpster, revealing another partial numeric code. Combine these two (you may need to rotate or mirror either of the codes). Enter the total code into the keypad next to the door. Slide the door open and head through.

Rooms 11-15

Music Room

Pick up the batteries from the floor. Move the wooden crate and pick up a teddy bear (6/8). Use your ultraviolet light on the bricks to the right to find a sign of illusion (4/6). Also use your ultraviolet light on the wall to the left of the computer to get a numerical hint. This will include some numbers and some gaps. Click on the computer, then enter the login details:

  • Username: admin
  • Password: (completed number sequence from wall)

If you saved Patrick, check the messages on your phone for a code; if you didn't, check the text documents on the computer for a code. Back out and open the chest to the right with this code. Take the syringe from inside the chest. Read the newspaper on the wall. The keypad near the door has no buttons. If you use your ultraviolet light on the far left wall you will get a clue on what to do. Go into your game options and set the music volume to 0%. Slide the door open and head through.

Candle Room

Light the 6 candles in the room with matches. Read the note (10/14) in the darkness to the left. Look at the note amongst the pyramid of candles and rotate it 90 degrees. Look inside the matchbox on the floor, sliding it open to see the second part of a code. Enter the total code into the keypad next to the door. Slide the door open and head through.

Bathroom

If you saved Patrick, you will get a call from him when you enter the room. Pick up the syringe and battery from the floor. Look in the darkness to find a note (11/14), then search with the ultraviolet light to find a sign of illusion (5/6).

Light the candle towards the bottom left. Take the piece of paper from the right. Drag, zoom and rotate it over the partial red letters on the tiles to see a word. Open the grate at the top right to reveal a number. These two combine to give you the keypad code. Enter the total code into the keypad next to the door. Slide the door open and head through.

Prison Cell

You will get a call from Illusion when you enter the room. Move the crate and pick up a hammer. Use this on the loose bricks in the lower part of the wall This will reveal 3 small numeric codes, which you need to reflect and combine. Enter the total code into the keypad next to the door. Slide the door open and head through.

VCR Room

Read the note (12/14), and search the dark shelves to find a teddy bear (7/8). Click on the clock on the right side of the screen, and it will display the current time in 24-hour format. Look at the note in the shelves to see it mentions the time. Click on the computer, then enter the login details:

  • Username: admin
  • Password: (current time as shown on the clock)

Check the text documents on the computer, then back out. Pick up the VHS cassette from the floor and use it on the television to see a numeric code. Pick up the phone from the right and rotate it 180 degrees to see a word. Combine this with the numeric code. Enter the total code into the keypad next to the door. Slide the door open and head through.

Rooms 16-19

Key Room

If you saved Sara, you will get a call from him when you enter the room. Search the darkness to find the last teddy bear (8/8) Come to me all bears. Use your ultraviolet light to search for the final sign of illusion (6/6). Pick up a battery from the floor.

Cut down all the keys with your knife. Use the one that you keep to open the right chest, then look at the code inside. Also turn on the clock to the right. Use the code to open the left chest. Inside you will see a partial numeric code. You need to combine this with the flashing minutes on the clock. Enter the total code into the keypad next to the door. Slide the door open and head through.

Cemetery

Slide open Sara's coffin and read the note (13/14), then you will get a call from Illusion. Find a piece of paper to examine, and read the small letters inside the larger ones to get the first part of the keypad code. Look at the red letters on your gravestone for another part of the code. Use your hammer on the rock with the yellow X and Illusion will appear. You need to quickly shine the torch on him multiple times until he leaves you alone. Examine the note he drops to see the last part of the code. Enter the total code into the keypad next to the door. Slide the door open and head through.

Elevator

Close the door and pick up the syringe from the floor. Slide up the metal covers on the walls to find a note - rotate and reflect the word you see here for the first part of the elevator code. Look at the top right of the doorway to see the second part of the elevator code. Enter the total code into the control panel on the left.

After reaching the end of the ride, slide open the door. You may get a phone call. Head through the doorway ahead.

Coffin

Read the final note (14/14), then click on the nail holding it in place. Drag your bound hands over this to free them. Pick up the matches, phone and cloth. Use your matches near your right foot to scare off the spider. Use the cloth to clean the area, then use another match to read the code. Use the phone and enter the PIN you just found. You will receive a call and you need to move the phone left and right to keep reception.

Slide open the coffin lid and grab the helping hand The great escape.

Endings

Drag the mask down to reveal Illusion's identity. There are 5 different possible endings, based on your actions during the game:

  • Saved Sara and Patrick
    Sara was Illusion, and she has been shot.

  • Saved Sara, let Patrick die
    Sara was Illusion, and you both live.

  • Saved Patrick, let Sara die
    Sara was Illusion, and she has been shot.

  • Let Sara and Patrick die
    You also die in the coffin.

  • Found the secret room
    You and Patrick were both Illusion (this ending will only be shown after the credits).
