Pacific Heights

You will start outside 2800 Broadway, meeting Jake for the first time. Go upstairs and head inside, then go forward, left and forward. Pick up the Drussard letter (1/2) from the counter and read it in your inventory. Go back outside for now.

Click on the map in your inventory to see the layout of the city. You can walk around the streets to gradually explore all locations - once you have visited the locations once, you can then click on them on the map to travel directly to them. Each of the sections below will start from the position where you arrive if you use the map to travel to the locations.

Lombard Street

Go forward 3 times and examine the Science tile in the ground. Go forward and examine the Art tile in the ground. Go forward once more and examine the Letters tile in the ground.

China Town

Head right, forward, left, forward, right, forward and left. Notice the blue poster on the wall here and remember the pattern it shows.

Balclutha

Go forward, left and forward onto the boat. Continue right, forward 3 times, left, through the door and left. Examine the puzzle on the wall, where you need to recreate the image you saw on the blue poster. From the starting position, make these moves:

• Use the handle at the top left
• Use the handle at the bottom left twice
• Use the handle at the bottom right

Take the Avalon Necklace that is revealed. This will allow you to see visions at various places throughout San Francisco. Back out from the puzzle, then head left, forward, left and forward. Look through the telescope to see the Point Knox Lighthouse.

Chrissy Field

Go forward, left, forward, left, forward, left and forward. There are numbers carved in the tree here (3, 7, 5, 1, 4, 6, 2). Turn right and look down, then dig in the ground. Pick up the buried diary and read it. Look up again, then continue right, forward, right, forward and right to see a vision. Now head forward, left, forward and right, then look down. Pick up some diary pages and the celestial key.

Pacific Heights

Go upstairs and head inside. Go forward to see a vision. Now head left, forward, right, forward and left. Look in the right closet to find a Jack-in-the-box, where you can adjust a series of 7 sliders to change the tune that is played when you turn the handle. Set the sliders according to the numbers carved in the tree in Chrissy Field:

Fort Point

Go right twice, forward 4 times, left, forward 3 times, left, forward 5 times and left. Search the pile of rubbish to find a brochure, then read it in your inventory. Next head left, forward twice, right, forward, right and forward twice. Look through the telescope to see the Esperance Figurehead.

Old Mint

Head forward, left, forward, right and forward. Examine the puzzle on the door, which is a magic square. Set the numbers as follows so that all rows, columns and diagonals add to 15:

Go inside and turn left. Click on the spiderweb to see an eye pattern form. Turn right twice, then continue forward 3 times, right, forward and left. Here you will see the Vigilance Committee bell. Set the levers according to the brochure (middle, bottom, bottom, middle), then pull the handle on the right. Now go right, forward, right and forward to see a vision. Continue left, forward, left and forward. Pick up the Vigilance Committee papers.

Mission Dolores

Go forward 6 times, right, forward, left, forward, right, forward twice and right to see a vision. Now head left, forward, right, forward, left, forward and right. Examine the tomb here. Based on the diary you picked up, rearrange the letters to spell WILLIAM OF CALEDON. Change the year of death to 1789. Back out, then turn right and focus on the small alcove. Click on the skull, then take the bestial key.

Cliff House

Head forward, left, forward, left, forward twice, right, forward, right, forward, right and forward to enter the Mechanical Museum. Go forward and examine the machine straight ahead. Set the 3 images to the same bird hieroglyph you saw on the tiles on Lombard Street, then remove the handle on the right.

Golden Gate Park

Walk forward twice, right, forward, left, forward and left. Examine the Esperance Memorial and pay attention to the patterns of dots in the 4 corners of the plaque.

Fisherman's Wharf

Go left, forward, right, forward twice, left, forward twice, right and onto the Angel Island Ferry.

Angel Island

From landing on the island, go left, forward twice, right, forward, right and forward to see Jake again. Next head forward, left, forward 3 times, left, forward 3 times, right, forward 3 times, right, forward, right and forward twice to see a vision. Now continue left twice, forward twice, left, forward twice, right, forward and right. Turn on the x-ray light-box to see an x-ray that has a key on it. Look down and open the bottom left desk drawer, then take out Dr Holden's journal. Read through this in your inventory.

Back out from the drawer, then head up, right, forward, left, forward, right, forward 3 times, right, forward 3 times, right, forward twice, right, forward, right and forward. After another vision, continue left twice, forward, right, forward 3 times, right forward 5 times, right, up, forward, right, forward, left and forward. Watch another vision here.

Next go left twice, forward, right, forward, left, forward, left, forward twice, left, forward, left, forward twice, right, forward, right and down. Open the stove and take the vegetal key.

Now back out, then go up, right, forward, left, forward twice, right, forward, left, forward 7 times, left and forward to see the next vision. Continue right, forward twice and right. Click on the shiny area, then pick up the Drussard letter (2/2) and a cryptogram. Back out again, then head right, forward twice, left, forward, left, forward 5 times, left, forward twice and left. Here you will find the Esperance figurehead. Zoom in to see emerald and sapphire eyes. Now you need to click on the musical instrument it is holding to set the 4 patterns you saw on the corners of the plaque earlier:

After entering each pattern, click on the top of the instrument and you will hear a sound. Once all 4 have been entered in the correct order as shown above, take the emerald and sapphire. Back out again.

From here, go left, forward twice, right, forward 3 times, left, forward, left, forward 4 times, left, forward, right and forward into the lighthouse. Examine the door - you need to click on the tiles to change them so they show the correct insignia. Label the tiles as follows:

• Tile E: 14 times
• Tile F: 11 times
• Tile G: 4 times
• Tile H: 8 times
• Tile I: 2 times

The door will open, so head through and take the ruby. Back out and turn around, then go forward, left, forward 5 times, left, forward, left, forward, left, forward, right, forward, right, forward twice, left, forward, right, forward twice and left. You should now be facing a bookcase. Push the book at the bottom right, then examine the chest. Insert the celestial key, vegetal key and bestial key into the 3 locks, then lift the lid. Now insert the emerald, ruby and sapphire into the 3 holes. Lift the second lid. Take out the treasure map, then back out.

Now head left, forward twice, left, forward, right, forward twice, left, forward twice, right, forward twice, right, forward 3 times, left and forward 10 times. Focus on the Horus Eye symbol, then insert the handle into the middle of it. Back out, then go forward 3 times.
