Faded Stories: Greenberg is an abstract minimalist puzzle game, divided into a series of short stories. The game is set in the world of Greenberg, a place in which time and space are both meaningless, and the world itself is fading away. The next game in the series is Faded Stories: Full Moon.

Lonely Giant

There are 4 different endings to this story, which means you need to play through 4 times to see them all.

Chewed Shoe

From your bedroom, head forward and through the door. Continue forward, left, right and forward to reach some docks. Look at the stall in the distance, and look at the cards in front of the merchant to see you you will get 1 coin for returning 3 bottles. Go back twice and take the bottle on the right. Go right and grab the fish head. Return back and left, then pick up a second bottle from near the barrel on the left. Continue through the door, then go up the stairs and right. Examine the window on the right and grab a third bottle.

Head back, left, forward, left, right and forward to reach the docks again. Go to the merchant and give him the 3 bottles, then take a coin. Back out twice and go through the door into a store. Give your coin to the woman here, then take the match. Back out and go left, through the door, upstairs, and through the door to your apartment. Put the fish head in the pot, then use a match to light a fire beneath it.

Go through the door, then continue forward and left. Once you are outside, head along an alley on the left. Examine the small sign on the post next to the merchant. Back out, then go through the door, upstairs, through the door and back. Open the curtains over the window, then look outside. Click on the birds as they fly past - when you have killed enough, they will stop coming.

Back out, then go forward, through the door, forward and left. Pick up all of the feathers from the ground, then go right and get more, then go forward and get some more. Back out and go right to the large fish skeleton, then go along the new path heading left. Grab the injured bird (which becomes raw meat and more feathers).

Return to your kitchen by going back twice, left, through the door, upstairs and through the door. Look in the pot and take the cooked fish head, then put the raw meat into the pot. Go through the door, forward, left, right and forward. Give the cooked fish head to the dog, then pick up the feathers.

Now head back and left twice. Look in the dumpster to see an article that mentions that the most common four-digit code is 4832. Look at the sign on the right door that says "Cook Wanted". Try to open both doors, but they are locked. Go forward and click on the dog, then look at its poop and pick up the final feather (you should have 90). Head back, right and along the alley. Give the feathers to the merchant, then take 9 coins. Back out, then go through the door, upstairs and through the door. Go back to your bedroom and open the locked chest on the floor with the combination 4832. Look inside and take another coin.

Head forward, through the door, forward, left, right and into the store. Give your 10 coins to the woman, then take the jar. Continue back, left, through the door, upstairs and through the door. Read the message on your stove, then look in the pot and take the cooked meat.

Go through the door, forward, left twice and forward. Feed the dog, then collect its new poop in your jar. Walk back, right 3 times and left around the corner. Give the jar to the person at the Tannery, then take the 49 coins. Back out twice and enter the store. Give the 49 coins to the woman, then take the scratch card and scratch it. Go back outside and pick up the old chewed shoe. Go left, through the door, upstairs and through the door. Put the old chewed shoe in the pot Chewed Shoe.

Tomato Soup

Open the locked chest on the floor with the combination 4832, then look inside and take the savings. Go forward and look on the stove to see a "Cook Wanted" advertisement. Pick up a small container of fertilizer from the low shelf on the left. Go through the door, then forward, left twice and into the bank. Take a document from the box on the counter. Select the options "Cash Deposit" and "New Account", then give this (and your savings) to the bank teller. Take the receipt, noting the account number 351895.

Back out, then enter the restaurant. Continue forward to the kitchen. Look at the order for tomato soup, and take the key hanging on the wall. Look at the dirty plate that is brought to the shelf here. Head back twice, right and through the door. Take the rag from the bucket.

Return left twice, then use your key on the door to the left and head through. Go right to a balcony and use your fertilizer on the large pot, then pick the tomato. Also pick up a jar from the left. Now go left, back, into the restaurant, and forward to the kitchen. Look at the dirty plate and use the rag on it. Use your tomato on the pot on the stove, then use the plate on it. Put the tomato soup on the shelf so it is collected. Use your jar to get some more soup from the pot.

Head back twice, right, through the door, upstairs and through the door. Use the leftovers on the bowl next to the stove Tomato Soup.

Cooked Meat

Open the locked chest on the floor with the combination 4832, then look inside and take the savings. Go forward, through the door, then forward, left twice and into the bank. Take a document from the box on the counter. Select the option "Cash Withdrawal" and enter the account number 351895. Give the document to the bank teller, then take the money.

Back out, then enter the restaurant. Give the money to the restaurant owner Cooked Meat.

Golden Egg

Open the locked chest on the floor with the combination 4832, then look inside and take the savings. Go forward and pick up a small container of fertilizer from the low shelf on the left. Go through the door, then forward, left twice and into the bank. Take a document from the box on the counter. Select the options "Cash Deposit" and enter the account number 351895. Give the document to the bank teller, then take the receipt.

Back out, then go through the door on the left. Go right to a balcony and use your fertilizer on the large pot, then climb the plant. Head left and pick up the newspaper from the ground (this contains a map).

Return right, down, left, back, right, through the door, upstairs, through the door to your apartment, and back to your bedroom. Use the newspaper on the book on your desk (to turn it into a paper airplane). Now go forward, through the door, forward, left twice, through the door on the left, right, up the plant and left. Use the paper airplane on the giant in the distance. Go right and take the golden egg from the nest Golden Egg.

Climb down, then go left, back, and into the bank. Give the golden egg to the bank teller.

Happy Memory

From your bedroom in Apartment 41, head right. Pick up the watering can and use it on one of the plants, then pick it up and use it on the other plant Healthy Plant. Walk forward into the kitchen and read a list of ingredients on the fridge. Open the top right cupboard and take out the flour. Head left twice to reach a staircase, then go downstairs.

Enter Apartment 31, then continue through the door to a storage room. Grab a toy car from the shelves and put it on the floor Toy Car. Head right and forward, then get a raw egg from the fridge. Leave this apartment by going left twice. Enter Apartment 32, then continue through the door. Pick up some chocolate from the desk, and a teddy bear from just to the right. Leave by going left and then right. Go downstairs again.

Enter Apartment 22, and go forward into the kitchen. Click on the fridge to get some butter, then leave by going right twice. Head downstairs once more.

Enter Apartment 11, and go through the right doorway. Take the doll head, then back out to the right. Now go forward twice and pick up the hammer. Leave this apartment by going right and left twice, then enter Apartment 12. Go forward to the kitchen and take a sugar cube from on top of the cupboard next to the stove. Leave by heading right twice. Go all the way back upstairs.

Enter Apartment 41 and go forward to the kitchen. Put the following items into the bowl on the bench:

Flour
Raw egg
Butter
Sugar cube
Chocolate

Head left twice, then go downstairs and into Apartment 32. Go forward to the kitchen and put the doll head on the mannequin, then take the wet sponge from the sink. Leave by going right twice, then go downstairs and into Apartment 22. Head forward to the kitchen and break the piggy bank with your hammer so you can take the money. Head right twice, then go downstairs and into Apartment 12. Use your wet sponge to clean the door, then go through it. Pick up the champagne and the wig. Return left and right. Go all the way back upstairs again.

Enter Apartment 41 and go forward to the kitchen. Use your champagne on the glasses, then pick up a glass of champagne. Head left twice, then go downstairs and into Apartment 31. Go forward and through the door to the bathroom, then give your money to the mannequin. Walk right and then left twice, then enter Apartment 32. Walk forward into the kitchen and give your wig and teddy bear to the mannequin.

Leave by going right twice, then go downstairs and into Apartment 22. Give the glass of champagne to the mannequin, then go through the door and take the snacks from next to the TV. Leave by going left and right, then go downstairs and into Apartment 11. Go through the right doorway and give the snacks to the mannequin. Return right, left, and up to the top floor again.

You can now enter Apartment 42. Go forward to the party and take the present to get a doll. Go right twice, then downstairs and into Apartment 32. Continue through the door on the left, and look at the dollhouse on the desk.

Move the girl to the kitchen, then move the door of the washing machine anywhere else in that room. Now move the girl to the attic, then move the washing powder down into the washing machine. Move the girl to the bathroom on the right, then move the dirty sock to the washing machine. Put the door of the washing machine back in place, and it will start working.

Next move the girl to the kitchen, then move the door of the oven. Move the chicken from the oven on to the dining table. Close the oven, then move the girl to the dining room to eat the chicken. Give the bone to the dog, then move the dog out to the doghouse. Move the cat to the left side of the attic, then move the mouse next to the girl. Move the girl to another room, then follow her with the mouse. Repeat this several more times Scary Mouse. Now move the girl once more, then move the mouse to the mouse hole in the attic. Drag the sun to the right, then put the girl in either bed.

Mumbling Crowd

Take the small bag of coins from the table. Pick up the salt and use it on the cup of tea. Read the leaflets next to the fridge, then head right. Read two more leaflets on the floor here, and also watch the broadcast on the TV. Go through the door, then continue left and right, and pick up the hammer. Go through the gate on the right into a storeroom. Take the jar from the ledge on the left, and read another leaflet on top of the drawers.

Return back, left and back, then go through the middle door (which was previously blocked). Walk right twice and look in the backpack to see some homework. Now head left 3 times to find a crowd of people. Go along the path to the far right and enter the cafe. Examine both plants and take the bookworms from them. Also read some more leaflets on the right table. Now head back, left, right, through the door, left, right, and through the gate to the storeroom. Use the bugs on the books on top of the drawers, then look at them. Change the word beneath the image of a hammer to "Key" - this also changes the description in your inventory.

Back out and go left, then use your key on the door to the left. Take the TV remote from on top of the drawers. Go back through the door, then continue back, and through the door to your apartment. Use the TV remote on your TV. After the policeman comes in, use the TV remote again, then watch the new broadcast on the TV. Back out and go through the door.

Continue left and right, then through the gate. Look at the book and change the word back to "Hammer". Back out of the storeroom and go left, back and through the middle door to return to the street. Go left and through the open doorway. Go along the alley and pick up the trash, then head back twice and right twice. Put the trash in the bin here. Look at the crossword puzzle on the bench and pick up the pen. Go right and look in the backpack again. Use your pen to select option B at the bottom, so that flies become bees. Return left and use your hammer on the beehive, then use your jar to collect the honey from inside.

Head left, through the door, and through the next door into your apartment. Go left to the kitchen and add honey to the cup tea, then pick it up. Head right, through the door, left, right and along the alley heading to the left. Read the leaflet here, which will switch your two mouse buttons around.

Go back, left, and through the left door. Walk down and take the scissors from the table. Now head right, through the door, back, through the middle door to the street, left, through the doorway, and around to the right. Look at the leaflet on the ground and use your scissors to cut it. Place a coin on the cut leaflet and leave it there. Now go back twice, along the far right path, and into the cafe. Give the cup of tea to the customer, then back out and go back inside. Look at the receipt on the table and place a coin here, then leave the cafe again.

Use one of your 2 coins on the broken vending machine, then take it back from the slot (according to the homework in the backpack, you now have 1+1=11 coins). Enter the cafe and take the coin back from the table. Return back, left, through the doorway and around to the right so you can pick up the other coin from the leaflet. Now head back twice, along the far right path, and through the right door into a store. Give your 13 coins to the clerk, then take the noise canceling headphones. At this point, your mouse will return to normal.

Walk back, left, right, through the door, left and through the door. Go left once more and use your hammer on the skull, then take out the rotting brain. Go right, through the door, back, through the middle door to the street, left and through the doorway. Give the brain to the zombie woman here, then use your hammer on the brick wall. Go through the hole and read the leaflet on the floor Lorem Ipsum.

Corrupted Memory

Turn on the light switch behind the mannequin's hand. Open all of the cupboard doors and take the eraser from the last one. Use this on the mannequin, then head right and forward. Move your mouse around the middle of the screen until you can pick up an indistinct object - if you click on this in your inventory it will cycle between different objects. Go forward through the door on the left and find another hidden indistinct object. Go right and left twice to leave the apartment.

Head all the way downstairs. Change one of the indistinct items into a wrench, then give it to the shadow. Enter Apartment 11. Go through the right doorway and use the eraser on the mannequin, then click where it was to get another indistinct item. Leave this apartment by going right and left. Change one of your items into a screwdriver, then use it to remove the doorbell switch from near the left door.

Head upstairs twice and attach the doorbell switch next to the left door here. Press the switch, then change your remaining item into a toy and give it to the mannequin. Use your eraser on the mannequin, then enter Apartment 31. Pick up an indistinct key from the cupboards, then leave to the left.

Go upstairs and change your key into Key 43. Look at the number 42 on the right door (it will become 43), and a figure will eventually appear. Enter Apartment 41, then go forward and grab the pizza and beer. Go left twice and down twice, then give a slice of pizza to the figure outside the right door. Look at the number 21 on the left door (it will become 22). Go through this door, then go forward and grab another beer.

Continue right twice and down. Enter Apartment 12, then go forward and pick up the fireworks. Return right twice, up twice, and into Apartment 31. Go through the doorway on the right and give the fireworks to the figure, then grab the last beer. Walk right, left and up, and give the 3 beers to the figure here, then go through the door.

Sunday Hike

There are 7 different endings to this story, which means you need to play through 7 times to see them all.

Faded Photo #01

Go through the door into Building 12A, then continue through the next door. Grab the pen from the desk. Go out through the door again, then go left, picking up the rat poison from the floor. Return right and back, then go left twice. Take the top off the sprayer, put the rat poison inside, then pick up the strong pesticide. Head right, then into the alley. Take part of a business card from the dumpster. Go back and right to where you started.

Use the strong pesticide on the insects near the bin. Look in the bin and pick up the fish. Return left and into the alley, then give the fish to the cat. Pick up the broom stick. Go back and right, then enter Building 12A. Head right and use the broom stick on the broom head, then pick up the broom. Walk left, back, left and into the alley. Use the broom on the dirty paper on the ground, then use the pen on it to complete some more of the business card. Return back and right, then use the pen on the 12A sign on the building to complete the business card (59-1259A).

Enter Building 12A and go through the next door. Use the phone on the desk to dial the number 5912592. Leave the room, then go back and left. Get into the taxi holding nothing.

Head left 7 times and search the rubble on the ground to find a crown. Go right 6 times and examine the small anthill - give the crown to the ant, then wait for a while and pick up a shiny coin. Next head left 4 times and examine the bird, then swap your shiny coin for a key. Use the key on the door to the house here, then go inside. Walk forward through the door and take an empty battery from the clock on the wall. Back out and go downstairs and then right. Click on the small stone to release some spiders, then continue right. Pick up a piece of paper from the pile of papers on the right. Examine the lilies in the lake and pick up the wet battery from the water here. Go left 3 times and dry the wet battery on the towel.

Go right, back twice and right 5 times. Use the base of the lamp twice and you will end up with 2 good batteries. Go left and examine the spider web to find the crown again. Also grab another coin from where you found the shiny coin earlier. Head left 4 times, into the house, down the stairs and right twice. Look at the mushrooms and give the crown to the bee. Now go left twice, back twice and left twice. Use your piece of paper on the honey that has dripped from the beehive to get some sticky paper. Walk right and forward, then use the sticky paper on the sign. Examine the sign to see the bus times. Walk back, right, into the house and through the door. Put both batteries into the wall clock, then set the time to 5:40. Return back twice, left and forward. Board the bus using your coin.

Walk forward and right twice. Examine the fishing rod and then its hook. Back out and look at the wheelbarrow, then take the worm. Go right twice and put the worm on the hook Click on the fishing rod twice, then take the fish. Now go back 3 times and right. Use the fish on the camera. Examine the photo in your inventory Faded Photo #01. Go left and click on the suitcase.

Go through the door into Building 12A, then continue through the next door. Use the phone on the desk to dial the number 5912592. Go out through the door again, then go left, picking up the rat poison from the floor. Return right and back, then go left twice. Go through the door into Building 12A, then continue through the next door. Use the phone on the desk to dial the number 5912592. Pick up the stinky worm from the floor, then go back and right. Put the stinky worm on the hook. Click on the fishing rod twice, then take the ugly fish. Now go back 3 times and right. Use the ugly fish on the camera. Examine the photo in your inventory Faded Photo #04. Go left and click on the suitcase.

Faded Postcard #01

Go through the door into Building 12A, then continue through the next door. Use the phone on the desk to dial the number 5912592. Go out through the door again, then go back, left and get into the taxi holding nothing.

Head left 7 times and search the rubble on the ground to find a crown. Go right 6 times and examine the small anthill - give the crown to the ant, then wait for a while and pick up a shiny coin. Next head left 4 times and examine the bird, then swap your shiny coin for a key. Use the key on the door to the house here, then go inside. Walk forward through the door and take an empty battery from the clock on the wall. Back out and go downstairs and then right. Click on the small stone to release some spiders, then continue right. Examine the lilies in the lake and pick up the wet battery from the water here. Go left 3 times and dry the wet battery on the towel.

Go forward and right, then enter the WC. Look at the pants on the floor to the left and take a coin from the pocket. Go back twice and enter the Gift Shop. Put your 2 coins on the counter, then take a postcard - you will automatically go outside. Examine the postcard in your inventory Faded Postcard #01. Go back and click on the suitcase.

Faded Postcard #02

Head left and pick up a shiny coin. Go left 4 times and enter the house. Walk forward through the door and take the strong pesticide from the window. Examine the wall clock, and set the time to 9:25. Return back twice, left and forward. Board the bus using your shiny coin.

Go forward and right, then enter the WC. Look at the pants on the floor to the left and take a coin from the pocket. Also take the strong pesticide from the basin. Go back twice and enter the Gift Shop. Use your strong pesticide on the spider web so you can take another coin from the web. Put your 3 coins on the counter, then take a postcard - you will automatically go outside. Examine the postcard in your inventory Faded Postcard #02. Go back and click on the suitcase.

Faded Postcard #03
