Day 1
Evening
Talk to Leroy when he approaches, then go straight down the road until you are blocked by a black dog. Turn right and talk to the man outside the curiosity shop. Turn right again and pick up the large flask from the ground where you met Leroy. Continue out past the town sign and pick up the bone from the ground. Now turn around and go back to the black dog, giving it the bone. The man from earlier will now come and introduce himself as Help, then give you a ring.
Turn left and head forward through the intersection. Jackalope Jones will come over and talk to you. Be polite and he will give you an Ace of Spades for luck. The large building on the left is the saloon, which is called the Hard Drive - open the doors and head inside. Talk to Gus the bartender, but he won't give you any gossip as you haven't met many people in town yet. Turn left and approach the large man in the blue shirt. After he pulls his gun out, buy him a drink and talk to him.
Turn around and go over to speak to Oona Canute, the woman in red standing near the jukebox. Also talk to Isao the piano player, then play either blackjack or poker at one of the gaming tables until you have a balance of over $200 - this will last you the entire game. Now head up the stairs (you will need to pay $10 for the privilege). At the top, knock on door 2 to meet Sophie, then knock on door 3, but Maizie won't open the door. Now knock on door 4 to talk to Ruby. She will talk with you on the 3rd try, and you must talk to her using these options:
- ...but I kiss better.

- Would a bath change your mind?
- Goodbye, Miss.
You will receive the saloon back door key. Make your way back downstairs and outside again. Now use the map to head to the Cactus Bed Hotel. Go inside and talk to Jonas Fearwitt at the front desk, but he has no rooms available. Go over and talk to Mountain Laurel - be nice to her by choosing these options:
- How'd you know I'm no gentleman?
- I bet you're a pretty good trapper.
- How's the hotel?
- Bye.
You will receive a knife from her. Go upstairs and you will meet Buick Riviera - talk to him before returning downstairs and going back outside. Find a man in a suit walking around (Radisson Bloodstone-Hayes) and talk to him - accept his cigar and you will go back to the Cactus Bed Hotel with him. Talk to him to learn his business involves in sulfuric acid. Talk to Jonas at the front desk again, who says there is a room that will be available soon - pay $9 for the three nights in advance. Go outside once more.
Wander the streets until you find a woman in a pink dress. Talk to her to discover her name is Mrs Cosimo Macintosh; apologize for frightening her and she will take you back to her house. Enter the room on the left as instructed. Read the 2 letters over the fireplace. Examine the sofa to see a bottle hidden within it. Search the bookshelves on the opposite wall and take the postcards stuffed between the books. Mrs Macintosh will come back and escort you to the dining room. Talk to Marie, and decline the offer to stay the night.
Use the map to return to the Cactus Bed Hotel. Talk to Jonas to receive your room key and a note. Turn around and head outside again to meet Jackalope. Follow him until you hear a voice from behind you, then talk to Dell Belcher and click repeatedly to punch him until he is knocked out. Use the map to go to the target range and talk to the woman here - give her $5 when she asks for it.
Return to the Cactus Bed Hotel again. Radisson will talk to you and warn you about Jackalope. Go upstairs and Buick will talk to you as you go past his bedroom - give him $1 when he asks for it. Go through door 3 and click on your bed several times to go to sleep.
Day 2
Morning
Leave your room and Jackalope will be waiting to talk to you. As you go past Buick's bedroom, give him another $1 for some information about Nate Trotter. Go downstairs and talk to Laurel, then look at the breakfast table. Pick up the biscuits and the sugar cubes, then read the newspaper. Go and talk to Jackalope, then head outside.
Go straight across to visit Doctor Rodham and talk to her in the back room. Head back outside, then enter the bank next door. Go to the teller window on the left and deposit $20. Use the map to make your way to the Shady Acres Cemetery, and steal the flowers from in front of the grave. Walk down the street until you find Radisson, then compliment him 3 times to get useful bits of information, before saying goodbye. Walk around until you spot Nate Trotter, then talk to him to learn that you can probably steal Old Man Quist's gun.
Make your way back to the Mayor's house and talk to Mrs Macintosh outside - give her 3 compliments, then ask her questions to get useful information. Turn right and go to the target range. Talk to Leroy here, who will lend you a gun and some bullets. Shoot the targets, reloading your gun when it is empty. Make sure you hit at least 80%, then back out and Leroy will give you a harmonica.
Use the map to go to the street between the hotel and the stagecoach office, and take the pie from the crates here. Go around to the front of the stagecoach office and talk to Marie. Next head to the morgue and go inside. Turn left and talk to Hiram Sidewinder - give him the pie in exchange for some boots.
Go back outside and go towards the saloon - since you have the key, you can get inside through the back door. Go upstairs and knock on door 2 to talk to Sophie again. Ask about a gun and she will tell you that Ruby has one. Knock on door 4 and talk to her using these options:
- Better late than never.
- Got a shovel..?
- I like a woman who can put her back into it...
- Well I wouldn't want you to get soaked...
- Manifest Destiny...
- And what would that be?
- You're driving me wild.
Offer her the flowers and she will leave. Enter her room and search the drawer, but all you will find is a bible. Leave the room and Ruby will tell you that Gus is cleaning her pistol. Go back downstairs and leave via the front door. Head straight across into the stagecoach office and talk to Levon Deadnettle. Go left and try to touch the portrait of Abraham Lincoln, but Levon will stop you. Offer him your postcards and he will stop paying attention to you. Now go and examine the portrait of Abraham Lincoln. Push the small button on the frame, then take the bullets. Go back outside. Walk around until you see a cutscene indicating that time has passed.
Afternoon
Talk to Jackalope, who is standing outside the saloon. Next find the mayor, Cosimo Macintosh, who will be walking around near the mission. Go to the cemetery again and steal some more flowers. Find Mrs Macintosh walking around the streets and compliment her several times before asking some questions - you will be allowed to visit Marie again.
Return into the saloon through the front door and offer Gus the bartender your cigar. Now you can ask him a question. Each time you buy a drink for $1 he will agree to answer another question. When you are done, talk to Oona - she will tell you the story about the Kid later. Go upstairs and knock on door 2. Ruby will tell you that Cobb Belcher is waiting for you downstairs. Ignore this and knock on door 4 instead. Nate will be here and will tell you to leave. Go downstairs and head out through the front door. Turn around and go straight back inside, and talk to Nate at the bar. Offer him the sugar cubes and he will leave. Go upstairs again and knock on door 4. Talk to Ruby using these options:
- I want to know why you're always so tough on men...
- So you hate us?
- But you're good.
- Seems like I'm more the Unforgiven...
- What happened?
Offer her the flowers and she will leave. Enter her room and search the drawer - this time you can take her pistol. Go back downstairs and talk to Oona, who says that Chet needs your help. Go outside and use your map to make your way to the Rattler paper office. Go inside and turn left, then talk to Chet Flippo.
Use the map to head to the curiosity shop. Talk to the Belchers - once they draw their guns, click on your gun, then click on Cobb (the one on the right). Once the mayor arrives, talk to him and you will become the town's sheriff. You will end up being escorted to the jail, and time will again pass.
Evening
Talk to Dell Belcher, then go outside and talk to Help, who will give you an old book. Examine this in your inventory and read through it. Go to the front of the Hard Drive saloon and talk to Marie, then continue along the street and find Buick walking around. Talk to him and he will suggest that you find Sonoma. Enter the mission at the end of the street and talk to her, but she has nothing to say to you.
Leave the mission and enter the saloon. Talk to Oona, then go upstairs. Open door 1 and go inside. Take the book from the bed and examine it in your inventory. Turn around and leave the room, where you will be confronted by Buick - pay him his $50 bribe. Knock on door 2 and talk to Sophie. You will end up getting a hairpin. Walk towards door 4 and listen in on a conversation. Return downstairs and head outside.
Go to the Cactus Bed Hotel and head inside. Talk to Laurel and take her side of the argument with Jackalope. Go upstairs and enter room 3, then click on your bed several times to go to sleep.
Day 3
Morning
Leave your room and Buick will be waiting to talk to you. Go downstairs and talk to Buick, then look at the breakfast table. Pick up the biscuits and the sugar cubes, then read the newspaper. Head outside and talk to Mrs Macintosh, who should be wandering the streets nearby. Next use the map to go to the livery. Head inside and turn right, then talk to Ned DeVries.
Go to the cemetery and talk to the lady you helped earlier, who will say that Dell Belcher is causing trouble in jail. Find Mountain Laurel walking around and talk to her, then make your way towards the jail again. You will see Jackalope just outside town, so go and talk to him first - he needs a ring so he can propose. Go to the curiosities shop and head inside, then talk to Help - he will tell you who has your ring (pay attention to this, as it is slightly random). Leave here and enter the jail again. Talk to the mayor and to Dell Belcher.
Use your map to go to the mission again. Head inside and talk to Sonoma - she wants you to locate 5 sacred objects, as mentioned in the book you stole from Oona before. Leave here and enter the bank to talk to Radisson, who is standing near the vault. Go back outside. Now you need to get the ring - the method depends on who Help told you currently has it:
- Sophie: Enter the saloon through the back door. Go upstairs and knock on door 2 to talk to Sophie. Agree to give her $75 to buy the ring back from her.
- Oona: Enter the dry goods store and talk to Oona. Ask about the ring and she will tell you she gave it to Isao, the piano player. Enter the saloon through the back door and talk to Isao. You need to repeat the tune that he plays. If you number the keyboard sections 1-5 from left to right, play them in this order: 5, 1, 1, 3, 2, 4. He will give you the ring.
Leave the saloon through the front door. Go out to the town outskirts and talk to Jackalope again, offering him the ring. Enter the dry goods store and talk to Oona. Also talk to Bolivar, the shop owner, and play checkers with him to learn some information - each game difficulty leads to a different clue. Now go back outside and head to the morgue. Stand outside and you can overhear a conversation that is happening inside.
Next head to the mayor's house. Talk to Marie outside and ask to go inside, then answer her questions correctly. Enter the room on the right, which is the dining room. Pick up the apple from the table and give it to the bird in the birdcage to distract it. Now steal the Yunni mask from the wall in the corner of the room. Leave the dining room again, then turn right and head upstairs. Enter the room on the left, which is Marie's bedroom. Open the wardrobe and read the diary inside. Now head back downstairs and leave the house.
Go to the target range and talk to Leroy again. Shoot the targets accurately, then back out and Leroy will give you a matchbox. Go to the mission and head through the back door into a classroom. Open the drawer in the desk at the front of the room to see a scorpion. Place your matchbox on the left here, then back out and leave the mission. Wait for a few minutes, then go back in and look in the drawer. Pick up the matchbox (containing the scorpion) and the diary pages. Go back outside. Walk around until you see a cutscene indicating that time has passed.
Afternoon
Go and talk to Jackalope, who is behind a cactus to the left side of the mission. Next talk to Watson, the apothecary, who is standing outside the pharmacy. Find the mayor wandering the streets and talk to him. Go to the mayor's house and talk to Mrs Macintosh, who is standing outside - compliment her, then ask her some more questions. Now go to the dry goods store. Head inside and talk to Marie, who agrees to meet you later.
Enter the saloon and talk to Oona, then go upstairs. Knock on door 4 and talk to Ruby, agreeing to help her. Go back downstairs and leave the saloon, then go to the doctor's office. Talk to Doctor Rodham to get a prescription, then return outside. Talk to Watson again, but he will not fill the prescription. Enter his store and go to the area at the back. Examine the prescription, which is for "Depression and Melancholia complicated by Liver Disease". Read through the book on the counter to work out that you need these ingredients:
- Armadillo Wort
- Sand Muchroom
- Saguaro Extract
- Pintoweed
- Wolf Rose
If you number the bottles 1-8 from left to right, use them in this order: 7, 5, 1, 8, 2. Now exit and you will take the remedy with you. Go back to the doctor's office and talk to Doctor Rodham to give her the remedy. Go outside and walk around for a bit, then return and you can go through to the back room to talk to Nate. After he gives you the Yunni flute, head to the Cactus Bed Hotel. Go inside and talk to Laurel. Next head to the jail and talk to Dell. Now go to the saloon and head upstairs. Knock on door 4 to talk to Ruby again. Finally, go to the Rattler paper office and talk to Chet Flippo again. Go back outside. Walk around until you see a cutscene indicating that time has passed.
Evening
Talk to Laurel outside the saloon, then go inside and talk to Chet, who is standing next to the bar. Talk to Oona, who will finally tell you her story about the Kid, as well as mentioning some bounty hunters. Go back outside and use your map to head to Leroy's house. Talk to Jackalope here. Find Laurel again and talk to her, then go back and talk to Jackalope once more.
Head to the mission and ring the bells to the left of the entrance. Turn left and go over to talk to Marie - refuse to join forces with her or she will shoot you. Return to the saloon. Play a game of poker and win the hand to end up with Zeb's silver turkey. Quit the game, and you will be told that the bounty hunters have arrived. Get your gun ready, draw it and reload it, then put it away again. Now save your game and head outside.
You need to kill a total of 5 bounty hunters - there are 2 walking the streets, one behind a wagon near the morgue, one behind a whell near the pig farm, and the final one upstairs on the balcony of the saloon. Talk to Nate outside the saloon. Go to the bank and break in using the hairpin you got from Sophie. Open the safe using the combination you learned from Bolivar (8-23-41). Open the box inside and take the Yunni emblem. Go to the saloon and talk to Oona once more.
Go to the Cactus Bed Hotel and head inside. Go upstairs and talk to Buick, just threatening him this time for information. Stand outside door 4 and overhear a conversation. Now enter room 3, then click on your bed several times to go to sleep.
Day 4
Morning
Head downstairs and Jonas will talk to you. Go outside and enter the saloon, then talk to Jackalope and Nate until they have nothing new to say. Get your gun ready again and save your game, then head outside.
You need to kill a total of 13 bounty hunters - there are 3 walking the streets, one in the cemetery, one outside the stagecoach office, one behind the fences near the curiosity shop, one on the roof of the apothecary and one high up at the front of the mission. Quickly turn around to see 2 in the main street, then the final 3 are outside the mission. Now walk down the main street and the Kid will start walking towards you. Select these options during the conversation:
- Guess nothing impresses the son of a librarian...
- That's right. I think the name for you was 'Buckethead'...
- Better than wearing silk long johns like you...
- They know he's hung like a prairie dog...
- Your cigar's gone out. Here, have a light, let's talk this over...
When the view changes, quickly click on your hand, then your gun, then the Kid.
Evening
Enter the mission and talk to Sonoma. Proceed into the classroom, then continue through the door on the left. Turn left and enter a small side room. Open the box here and place the Yunni emblem inside. Now turn around and climb the ladder. Ring the bell at the top, then climb back down and return out to the main part of the mission. Click on the fountain in the middle of the courtyard twice, then you will automatically descend the stairs that appear.
After listening to the voice, turn around and approach the glowing dial. This contains symbols that you can review in the book you stole from Oona. You need to set the dial 4 times, and each time proceed along an associated hallway. You can complete these in any order.
- Winter: Set the rings on the dial to Winter, 3/4 Moon and Sunrise. Enter the hallway that shows the Winter symbol on each side. You will end up on a floating platform. Click on the small pedestal to the right and insert the Yunni flute here. Now if you number the holes in the flute 1-5 from top to bottom, press them in this order: 3, 5, 2, 4, 1.
- Fall: Set the rings on the dial to Fall, 1/4 Moon and Midnight. Enter the hallway that shows the Fall symbol on each side. You will find yourself in a maze. Go into your inventory and use the mask. Now as you walk through the maze, look at which way the mask turns and turn in that direction at the next intersection. Once you reach the skeleton standing still, put the mask on it.
- Spring: Set the rings on the dial to Spring, Full Moon and Sunrise. Enter the hallway that shows the Spring symbol on each side. Step forward and examine the pedestal straight ahead. Insert your silver turkey at the bottom to unlock the rest of the interface. Now using Oona's book, select the symbols for Mesa, Bird, Open, Evil, Sky. Press the silver turkey again.
- Summer: Set the rings on the dial to Summer, New Moon and Noon. Enter the hallway that shows the Summer symbol on each side. In the room with the serpent's head, turn around and press the button near the doorway. Now you need to restore the 7 hexagonal tiles to their correct orientation. You can do this with trial and error, noting that they work in 2 groups of 3 alternating tiles.
Talk to the spirit when you return to the main room, then examine the dial again. Set the rings on the dial to Spring, Full Moon and Midnight. Click on the treasure chest and you will turn around to see Radisson. After talking, he will go with you along the Spring hallway. Turn around and insert your silver turkey at the bottom of the pedestal again. Now using Oona's book, select the symbols for Mesa, Bird, Kill, Evil, Man. Press the silver turkey again.
Day 5
Morning
Save your game, then go straight ahead to the end of the road to talk to everyone. Choose how you want to spend your money from the available options.
