Class Escape is a first-person room escape game set inside a school. The faculty have locked you inside the school and set you a series of tests to prove your intelligence. You must solve the tests to escape from captivity. This walkthrough includes both the original and updated versions of the game, which have different puzzles. There are 16 Steam Achievements, all documented in the walkthrough below.

Updated Version

Prologue

Listen to the introduction, then choose to press one of the 2 buttons:

  • Press the green button Give Consent.
  • Press the red button 4 times Rebel!. After going out to the main menu, resume the game then press the Sorry button repeatedly.

On the wall ahead there will be 2 different sine wave patterns, and you need to get them aligned, by pressing symbols on the panel. Press the top-left symbol 3 times to get the correct amplitude, then press the bottom-right symbol 3 times to get the correct frequency. Once you are correct, look at the 3-digit code displayed above the waves, and go and enter 670 on the tablet on the desk. Pick up the keycard, then head out to the corridor.

Use your keycard on the sensor next to the Classroom, then head inside.

Classroom

Go to the set of shelves along the left wall - you need to adjust the 5 small chairs in the shelves to match the black marks behind them. Make these moves:

  • Move the 1st chair up 2 times (to the top position)
  • Move the 2nd chair down 1 time (to the middle position)
  • Move the 5th chair up 1 time (to the top position)
  • Move the 1st chair up 1 time (to the top position)
  • Move the 3rd chair down 1 time (to the bottom position)
  • Move the 4th chair up 1 time (to the middle position)

Head to the opposite corner of the room and use the controls near the wooden maze to guide the ball to the target (through matching colored teleporters). There will now be colored discs beneath each of the chairs in the main part of the room. Look at the 9 signatures in the book on the lectern. Now make your way to the pin-up board which has some fixed chair layout diagrams and a group of others on nearby chairs. You need to arrange these into a logical order, going from the top-left all the way to the bottom right. In terms of signatures they should be

Now based on these chair layout diagrams, you can rotate the chairs in the room to match (the discs beneath the groups of 4 chairs will turn green when correct):

The glass case in the far corner of the room will open Complete Classroom.

Collectible Owls

You can look around to find a series of 6 collectible owls around the room:

  1. In the loose drawers on the floor near the entrance
  2. Next to the shelves with the 5 small chairs puzzle
  3. Next to the opposite set of shelves
  4. On a chair next to the chair layout diagrams
  5. Beneath the small wooden maze
  6. Next to the glass case holding the keycard

Take the keycard from the opened glass case. Click on the flag hanging from the wall, which is the flag of Kuwait. Go back to the prologue room and look at the tablet, then enter the country code for Kuwait, which is 965. Return to the classroom and go through the secret passage that has opened Mr. Holmes.

Go back out to the corridor and use the keycard on the sensor next to the Computer Class, then head inside.

Computer Class

Go to teacher's desk in the corner and look at the puzzle on the left screen. Press the four buttons repeatedly in this order until you reach a value of 0: ×2, +2, ÷2, −2. You will now see this message: Server Passcode 11110010. Convert this from binary to decimal (you can use the screen to the right to do this if you want). Now use the top-left screen and type the following commands:

  • OwlServer.Activate(242);
  • OwlServer.MidPC();
  • OwlServer.Row(1);
  • OwlServer.Row(2);
  • OwlServer.Row(3);

Go over to the glass case in the middle of the room and rotate the 2 wheels to align all three of the red, blue and yellow lasers with their receivers - this will project a network diagram on the wall ahead. Head to the middle bank of computers and press the 3 buttons to see different colors on the screens here - this will let you identify (with the network diagram) which monitors to activate:

Once all puzzles are complete, the glass case along the side of the room will open Complete Computer Class.

Collectible Owls

You can look around to find a series of 6 collectible owls around the room:

  1. On the desk at the room entrance
  2. In the drawer of the teacher's desk in the corner of the room
  3. On the teacher's desk in the corner of the room
  4. On the floor to the left of the first bank of computers
  5. On the left end of the desk of the middle bank of computers
  6. On the floor next to the glass case in the middle of the room.

Take the keycard from the opened glass case. Go back out to the corridor and use the keycard on the sensor next to the Theater, then head inside.

Theater

Look at the colored masks on the left wall, and click on them so the adjacent colors are matching:

Once correct, you will see a list of horse names and colors. Read the poster further along the left wall, then approach the left side of the stage. There are 3 buttons, which each cause one of the fighters to act. Press them in this order:

  • Archer
  • Boxer
  • Archer
  • Swordsman

A series of banners will now drop over the top of the stage. Go to the group of 4 golden dragon statues behind the chairs, and arrange them as follows, based on the note written here:

A new message will appear over the stage. You now need to set the knights and horses correctly on the main stage. Using the information you have gathered, first adjust the horses by using their individual controls:

  • Horse 1 (Far left): Red, facing southeast (Bear)
  • Horse 2: Blue, facing northeast (Harvey)
  • Horse 3: Green, facing west (Storm)
  • Horse 4: Yellow, facing south (Midnight)

Now adjust each of the four knight positions using the controls on the front of the stage, based on the banners hanging from above the stage:

  • Men of Light: Far right position
  • Kings of Money: Far left position
  • Judges of Justice: Second position from left
  • Eagles: Second position from right

You will now see a series of glowing numbers 1-8, and there are a series of 8 messages along the back wall of the theater. Each message hints at a number:

  • All three stood in court trembling (3)
  • One of them had their legs shaking (2)
  • Their fingers stained (5)
  • Even a smile towards the beautiful rainbow (7)
  • Sixteen hours from midnight (4)
  • The number of our planets (8)
  • Except one was given six months (6)
  • Court ended (1)

Press the floating buttons near the stage in this order: 3, 2, 5, 7, 4, 8, 6, 1. Once all puzzles are complete, the glass case along the side of the room will open Complete Theater.

Collectible Owls

You can look around to find a series of 6 collectible owls around the room:

  1. On the third row of seats to the right of the theater
  2. On the back row of seats near the golden dragon statues
  3. Behind the right lion statue
  4. In front of the left lion statue
  5. On the floor behind the glass case
  6. On the far left end of the stage (behind the snake statue)

Take the keycard from the opened glass case. Go back out to the corridor and use the keycard on the sensor next to the Science Lab, then head inside.

Science Lab

Look at the white discs on the wall to the left - the top disc shows a complete figure. You need to change the others so that when pairs are added together they make up the symbol above.

Now pull the lever on the wall near where you entered the room, and take note of the chemical elements projected on the walls and floor: O, Np, Ra, Np, Zn. Look at the shelves near the entrance, and find the colors corresponding to these elements. Look at the end of the central desk, and click on the colored blocks with these colors:

Go to the far corner of the room and find a puzzle on the wall where you need to fill in the missing chemical symbols. The answers can be seen in the cubes on the central table. From left to right, the chemical symbols contain these elements:

  • CH2OH-O-OH-OH-OH (5 clicks)
  • HO-O-OH-O-OH-O-OH (7 clicks)
  • O-OH-HO-OH-OH (7 clicks)
  • O-OH (5 clicks)

Now look at the large pipes. Based on the clues on the blackboard, select these tubes for each pipe:

Once all puzzles are complete, the glass case along the side of the room will open Complete Science Lab.

Collectible Owls

You can look around to find a series of 6 collectible owls around the room:

  1. Beneath the shelves of colored beakers at the entrance
  2. On the floor behind the 4th large pipe
  3. On the central table
  4. Beneath the central table
  5. Under the small desk at the far end of the room
  6. On the floor next to the glass case

Take the keycard from the opened glass case. Go back out to the corridor and use the keycard on the sensor next to the Gym, then head inside.

Gym

Look at the basketballs along the wall to the right. Their heights are controlled by a small control panel nearby, and you need to get them to line up with the red circles. Press the buttons highlighted in orange below (you can reset the puzzle with the larger button at the bottom-right):

You now have access to the large grid in the middle of the floor. You need to start at the green square and make your way to the red square, with a target score of 0 shown on the scoreboard. Follow the path indicated in red below:

Green and blue lasers will now appear - you will deal with these shortly. Go over to the 4 different balls - you need to line these up with the same balls against the wall, by gradually moving them into position. Just keep in mind that two balls cannot be in the same column at the same time.

Cross the room and go to the grid of small green/white balls against the wall. You need to adjust the balls in the right grid so they represent a combination of the balls in the left and middle grids:

Now use the large mirrors around the room to deflect the green and blue lasers until they hit the green and blue receivers on the wall. Once all puzzles are complete, the glass case along the side of the room will open Complete Gym.

Collectible Owls

You can look around to find a series of 7 collectible owls around the room:

  1. Beneath the back row of seats immediately as you enter
  2. Beneath the front row of seats on the left
  3. Next to the tubes blowing the basketballs upwards
  4. On the floor behind the black soccer ball
  5. In the far right corner, on the floor at the end of the seats
  6. On the front row of seats near the baseball bat at the far end of the gym
  7. On the floor near the scaffolding next to the glass case

Take the elevator keycard from the opened glass case. Head back out to the corridor.

Collectible Owls

You can look around to find a series of 2 collectible owls in the corridor:

  1. Next to the lockers closest to the Theater
  2. On top of a bench closest to the Theater
  3. Inside a bench just past the Gym

There is an achievement for getting all 34 collectible owls Owl Seeker.

Go back to the start of the corridor and use the elevator keycard next to the elevator. Enter the elevator and press the button. In the next area, explore everything, then go outside. Approach the strange characters and take the glowing orb New Test Maker Assigned.

Original Version

Prologue

Use your keycard on the sensor next to the Classroom, then head inside.

Classroom

Look at the arrangement of colored pictures of chairs on the wall. You need to click to change them to make a logical family tree:

Go to the square math puzzle on the next wall and press the four buttons repeatedly in this order until you reach a value of 0: ×2, +2, ÷2, −2. Pay attention to the chair symbols that are displayed now - you need to adjust the 5 small chairs in the shelves to match the layout you just saw on the math puzzle. Make these moves:

  • Move the 4th chair 3 times (to the bottom position)
  • Move the 1st chair 1 time (to the middle position)
  • Move the 2nd chair 1 time (to the top position)

Head to the opposite corner of the room and use the controls near the wooden maze to guide the ball to the target. The large display on the wall will now be filled with blue numbers. You can work out that the correct answer to this puzzle is 158, so enter this into the tablet.

Look at the chair poster on the wall here. Look at the note on one of the chairs to understand the chair pattern. Use the tablet to rotate the chairs and complete the logical pattern:

  • Top-Left Chair: Press A button 3 times (so the chair faces right)
  • Top-Right Chair: Press B button 3 times (so the chair faces right)
  • Bottom-Left Chair: Press C button 1 time (so the chair faces left)
  • Bottom-Right Chair: Press D button 2 times (so the chair faces up)

The glass case in the far corner of the room will open.

Collectible Owls

You can look around to find a series of 6 collectible owls around the room:

  1. In the loose drawers on the floor near the entrance

Go back out to the corridor and use the keycard on the sensor next to the Computer Class, then head inside.

Computer Class

Click the video projector button in the opened drawer of the first desk on the right, to display an image on the nearby wall. Go over to the glass case in the middle of this area and rotate the 2 wheels to align all three of the red, blue and yellow lasers with their receivers - this will power up the 3 banks of computers around the edges of the room.

Head over to the large computer and look at the spinning green discs. The middle disc is fixed, so work out from here to complete the pattern by clicking on the other discs to fix them in position. Once correct, you will see a message projected on the adjacent wall: Today's Passcode 11110010. Convert this from binary to decimal (you can use the computer on the teacher's desk to do this if you want), then enter the passcode 242 into the panel on the large computer.

Now look at the side of the large computer where there are a series of iron bars that you can slide to transfer power between cylinders. You need to transfer power to light up the cylinders as follows:

You will now have power to the central bank of computers, and the three blue buttons in front of computer 1 will display 3 different color patterns. Using the information from the projected image on the wall, you must work out which computers need to be activated in each of the 3 banks of computers around the edge of the room.

Take the keycard from the opened glass case. Go back out to the corridor and use the keycard on the sensor next to the Theater, then head inside.

Theater

A new message will appear over the stage. You now need to set the knights and horses correctly on the main stage. Using the information you have gathered, first adjust the horses by using their individual controls:

  • Horse 1 (Far left): Red, facing southeast (Bear)
  • Horse 2: Blue, facing northeast (Harvey)
  • Horse 3: Green, facing west (Storm)
  • Horse 4: Yellow, facing south (Midnight)

Now adjust each of the four knight levers:

  • Lever 1 (Close to Stage): Far right position
  • Lever 2: Second position from right
  • Lever 3: Far left position
  • Lever 4: Second position from right

You will now see a moving blue light on the stage. You need to press the button when the blue light is at the following positions (worked out by trial and error):

Collectible Owls

You can look around to find a series of 6 collectible owls around the room:

  1. On the third row of seats to the right of the theater
  2. Behind a lion statue on the right of the theater
  3. On the floor behind the glass case
  4. On the back row of seats to the right of the theater
  5. Beneath the back row of seats to the right of the theater
  6. On the far left end of the stage (behind the snake statue)

Take the electrical card from the opened glass case. Go back to the Gym and find a can on the floor behind a basketball on the seats nearest the door. Return to the Theater and use the can on the pumpkin man. Head back out to the corridor.

Collectible Owls

You can look around to find a series of 3 collectible owls in the corridor:

  1. On top of the lockers closest to the Theater
  2. On top of the lockers closest to the Science Lab
  3. Next to the lockers closest to the Computer Class

Go back to the start of the corridor and look at the electrical panel on the right. You need to flip levers up to reach a current of 18A:

  • Left Levers: Flip up lever 3
  • Right Levers: Flip up levers 1, 2 and 3

Now insert your electrical card on the device to the left. Turn the connectors to get power to travel to the other card at the top left. Run into the electricity to escape.

Speed Run

After completing the game once, start again. This time don't worry about collecting the owls or solving any unnecessary puzzles. Clear each room as quickly as possible to get a series of extra achievements. You can see the time spent in each room and overall on digital clocks throughout the game, and in the final area:
