CastleAbra is a fantasy first-person adventure with satirical undertones. You play as Nubbin Pureheart, and are tasked with becoming an apprentice wizard, then saving the princess Myrna Loo from the evil Wizardo.

Bridge Creatures

Bat

Open the door twice and go through. Go to the lower blue room and take the tuna from the drawer, then click on the mirror to talk to Valentino. Go to the lower green room and pick up the empty tank. Next go through the top right door. Pick up the red star, then go out to the balcony and pick up the yellow star. Click on the pipe, then on the cat/sphinx. Return inside and go through the top left door. Pick up the note, then try to go upstairs and you will be blocked by a bat.

Return to the mirror and talk to Valentino again. Pick up the bat, then go back through the top left door. Use your bat on the bat, then head upstairs.

Troll

Take the feather from the armor (don't go through the doorway here or you will die). Examine the vending machine and all of its contents, then go back. Open the top left door and go through. Take the plant food from the cupboard and talk to the Raven. Go back down to the lobby and to the lower green room. Use the plant food on the plant, then take the scales key.

Go back and then up to the top left area again. Use your scales key on the right door here and go inside. Pull the switch on the wall, then back out and go through the open door on the left. Pick up the coin from this room, then back out and go upstairs. Use the coin on the vending machine and take the plastic bucket and shovel. Go back and then into the room on the right, and use the shovel on the sand here to find a gold coin. Pick up the shovel and the coin, then back out and go left. Give the gold coin to the troll and take the grass key. Try to go forward to the doors, and you will be blocked by a spider.

Spider

Go back to the castle lobby and use the grass key on the nearest door on the left. Go through here into the stables. Pick up the pump cap, 10 cent coin and rope. Open each of the two barn doors and talk to each of the two trapped animals. Open the double doors and go through to talk to the bull.

Go back out of the stables, and then up to the vending machine through the top left room. Use the 10 cent coin and collect the hammer. Go back to the lobby and into the top right room, then use the hammer on the cracked brick. Take the ninja star. Return to the spider, and use the ninja star on the web it is dangling from. Pick up the tree key. Try to cross the bridge and a pink hippo will block your path.

Hippo

Return down to the lobby and into the lower blue room. Use your tree key on the door and head outside. Climb up to the treehouse to see the wizard. Talk to him, then click on the window; while he is distracted take the pump nozzle. Click on the window again and this time take the eye piece. Climb back down and into the castle.

Go to the stables (near door on the left). Combine the green tank, pump cap and pump nozzle, and use your liquid hand pumper on the bucket of water to fill it up. Go back to the lobby and then into the lower green room. Use the liquid hand pumper on the green-man, and he will open the door for you. Go through to the garden.

Click on the tall trees on the left and pick up the pink fruit. Try to go along the path and a gnome will stop you. Go back inside, then pick up the plant and the stone it was hiding and return out to the garden. Put the plant down here, then head back inside and to the lobby again. Head to the bridge with the hippo and give it the pink fruit. Pick up the moon key. Try to cross the bridge and this time a bird will block your path.

Bird

Return to the lobby and use your moon key on the far left door. Go through to a room with a broken floor and take the shield. Enter the room on the left. Take the yarn from the left statue, then continue into the next room. Take the red orb and the stick on the window ledge. Return to the lobby, then go up to the left to the vending machine room. Use the shield on yourself, then go past the suit of armor.

Take the 20 cent coin, then go back out and use this in the vending machine to get the crackers. Go back to the bridge and use these on the bird. Take the sun key, then try to pass but a cyclops will block you.

Cyclops

Go back down to the lobby and use your sun key on the far right door. Go through the door and use your liquid hand pumper on both pots of fire. Continue through the next door and take the hook. Return to the lobby and go through the far left door.

Use the hook on the hole, then use the rope on the hook and climb down. Take the blindfold from the statue, then continue forward and pick up the telescope and the green star. Return up the rope and go left and into the microscope room. Use the telescope on the stand, then look through it - the wizard has left the treehouse.

Go down to the lobby, through the lower blue room and out to the treehouse. Take the ladder, then use it on the castle wall and climb up. Go left twice and pick up the cork, then climb the stairs. Knock on the door and talk to the princess. Go all the way back to the lobby and then through the far left door. Climb down the rope and go forward, then use your cork in the fish pond. Enter the water and pick up the Rosetta slab, then go back before you drown.

Return to the lobby, then go through the far right door. Use the Rosetta slab on yourself, then read the hieroglyphics on the wall here. Go to the fish pond again and enter the water, then go forward and speak to the turtle. Head into the house here. Talk to Olive, then open the clam and take the elastic band.

Head back to the bridge and combine your stick, elastic band and stone. Use this on the Cyclops, then pick up the deck key. Go back into the fish pond and through to the ocean. Head into the water in the background, then on to the ship. Use your deck key on the door and head inside.

Star Puzzle

Take the photograph and the blue star beneath it. Go back to the lobby of the castle. Head through the near left door and forward to see the bull. Use the photograph on the bull and take the key while he is distracted. Go back into the stables and enter either stall; use the key to free the creature and you will receive a code (402).

Go back to the lobby, then head through the far left door, then to the microscope room. Use the eyepiece on the microscope, then the sheet of paper. Use the microscope and enter code 402 to see the correct pattern of stars:

  • put the red star in the green star hole in the green-man room (lower green room)
  • put the blue star in the yellow star hole in the Egyptian room (far right door)
  • put the yellow star in the blue star hole in the dragon stairs (near right door)
  • put the green star in the red star hole in the spooky stairs (through the lower blue room)

Go back to the lower blue room and open the star box on the wall, taking the can opener from inside. Next head to the lobby and then out to the balcony via the top right doorway. Combine the can opener with your can of tuna, and give this to the cat. Now you can take the pipe. Go back to the lower blue room yet again and use the pipe on the statue. Take the flute. Head to the bridge room and use the flute on the door, then open it again and go through. Climb on the griffin to fly to your next destination.

Valentino's Cottage

Try to go through the archway, but you will be stopped. Go over to the gardens and into the gazebo, then take the bug spray. Return to the archway and give the bug spray to the man, then head through the archway. Talk to the insects here, then leave and take the key from the man's back pocket. Use the key on the cottage door and go inside.

Talk to Valentino, then take the blue stone before heading upstairs. Take the dog food, then go back down. Combine your can opener with the dog food, then put it in the red food bowl. Go back upstairs and take the bath key and honey from the two drawers on the left.

Return outside and go through the archway. Give the honey to the flies, then pick up the seeds that Valentino drops. Continue left and click on the fountain to meet Floppy. Use your hand pumper on the fountain to fill it with water again. Go back to the cottage and use the hand pumper to fill the blue water bowl. Now you can use the bath key on the right door. Enter the bathroom and take the blue stone, lotion, fish bowl and towel. Use your seeds on the toilet. Go outside to the fountain and put both blue stones in the cat's eyes. Return to the bathroom again and take the blue flower. Go outside and through the archway, using the blue flower with the black leaves.

Now that the gardener has appeared, go back and pick up his shovel. Walk towards the gazebo and use the shovel to dig just to the left. Pick up the ball you discover here. Now use the ball outside the house, near the blue flowers, then at the fountain, and the dog will scare away the cats. Use your fish bowl to collect Floppy (you will also get a small key). Use the ball again near the blue flowers, outside the house, and outside the gazebo, then leave the dog there (take the ball).

Head into the cottage and upstairs, then use the small key on the chest. Take the suit from inside and then use it on yourself. Go out to the gazebo and head into it to meet up with Valentino. Throw the ball here, then quickly swap the two drinks. You will wake up with the secret potion.

Forest & Mountains

Try to walk forwards, and first the wizard will speak, then a thief will steal the potion. Go forwards into the woods where you will be stopped by a branch. Head right and talk to the insects again. Continue right and talk to the praying mantis, then take the knife. Return left twice and use the knife on the branch, then pick it up. Continue forward and take the fly paper. Go back and right and use the fly paper on the fly. Pick up the honey, then go back and forward again.

Try to approach the river, then use the honey on the bear. Go forward to the raft and try to go forward again, but you will be stopped by a sea serpent. Go back to the fly and pick up the hook. Look under the two rocks here and pick up the worm and the line. Combine the line, hook, worm and branch to make a fishing pole. Go back to the sea serpent and use the the fishing pole on the water to catch a fish (the serpent will take the fish and leave). Continue forward to the mountains.

Head left into a cave and take the poem from the skeleton. Go back outside and onwards up the slopes. Keep going until you meet the yeti, then head along the path to the left. Pick up the snowball from here, then go back twice so you are at the top of the mountain. Use the snowball on the ground here, then follow it down and take the dollar from the yeti's hand. Enter the cave and sleep in the bed, then go back outside and walk forwards to the castle.

Back at the Castle

Approach the front door and knock to talk to the wizard, then head inside. Go up to the top left doorway and over the bridge. Pick up the sleep staff from where you boarded the griffin. Next head through the far left door and through the fish pond to the underwater area. Go towards the background and then to the right of the ship to find 3 large heads. Use the sleep staff on them so you can take the small wedge. Continue forward and talk to Johnny.

Go back to the lobby and head through the lower blue room and outside. Climb the ladder and go left twice, then use the small wedge on the knob and take the scissors. Return to the lobby and go through the far left door, heading to the 3 statues. Give the scissors to the middle statue and take the antacid tablets. Go back and head through the far right door. Use the antacid on the pool of acid, then head down to the lower door.

Take the red cape from here, then go back to the lobby. Head through the near left door and straight ahead to the bull. Use the cape on the bull, then quickly use the shield on yourself. After the bull leaves, go to the animal you freed in the barn and you will receive the princess key.

Go back to the fish pond and out to the ocean. Head to the boat and go inside. Open the window and try to take the key here, then a shark will appear. Feed your fish to the shark, then take the skull key. Go back to the lobby, then go to the top right doorway. Use your skull key on the red door here and head inside. Talk to the wizard, then go back to the lobby and up to the princess (through the lower blue room). Use the princess key to unlock her door and go inside. Talk to the princess, then take the stamp collection and the book. Go back to the lobby and in to see the wizard via the top right doorway. Give him the stamp collection, then leave again. Return to the princess once more and the wizard will enter and then return.

Head back to the lobby, then through the top right door to the wizard's office. Pick up the 50 cent coin and the record. Go back to the lobby, then to the top left door and up to the vending machine. Use the 50 cent coin to get the sunglasses. Go back out of this room and left to see the raven. Use the record on the Victrola, then take the shrink ray. Next head back to the lobby and then through the top left door. Go up the stairs and use the shield on yourself to get past the armor again. Pull the rope on the left, then use the shrink ray on the frog. Pick up the mead.

Return to the lobby and go through the lower green door to the garden. Try to walk forward, then use your fist on the gnome. Head forward along the path and try to cross the bridge. Give the mead to the big gnome, then open the door and enter the small building. Pick up the alchemy key, then go back to the lobby.

Head through the lower blue door and go outside. Climb the ladder and use your alchemy key to open the door on the right, then head inside to find an alchemy lab. Pick up the 2 sandbags, then return to the lobby. Head through the far right door and continue to the room with the traps. Use the blindfold on the statue, then use a sandbag on the trapdoor, and another on the floor panel behind it; the pit will fill with water. Click on the floor panel nearest you, and the pit will fill with rocks. Now use the lever on the wall and head through the door. Open the sarcophagus and talk to the wizard, then open it again and take the red orb.

Return to the lobby and go through the top left door then to the right. Put your two red orbs in the eyes, then take the marble hamburger. Go out through the lower green door to the lion's house and give the hamburger to the lion (you will receive a lab key).

After heading back inside, go through the far left door, down the rope and out to the ocean. Go to the boat and head inside, then give your book to the turtle and take the flowers. Go back a few steps and enter Olive's house, then give her the flowers and take the pink pearl. Return to the turtle and give him the pearl, then go back to Olive's house. Talk to the turtle outside and then Olive inside. Go back outside and forward to see Johnny again. Talk to him, then return to Olive's house. Now the way should be clear ahead; go forward past where the squid was waiting before. Use your shovel on the X and take the lump of lead. Also pick up the big wedge. Return to the castle lobby.

Go out through the lower blue door, up the ladder and to the left. Use your lab key to unlock the wizard's lab and head inside. Take the vial from the machine here, then go back to the lobby. Head through the far right door and down to the lower door. Use the sunglasses on yourself, then try to go forward and the Medusa will leave you alone. Go right twice and use the feather in the wooden statue, then take the scroll. Go back to the lower blue room and use the scroll on the statue, then use your empty vial on the statue to collect tears. Go outside and up to the alchemy lab again. Now follow the instructions from the poem:

  • use the lead in the first machine
  • pick up the black rocks and use them in the second machine
  • pick up the black slime and use it in the third machine
  • pick up the pink lump and use it in the first machine
  • pick up the pink rocks and use them in the second machine
  • pick up the pink slime and use it in the third machine
  • also use the tears in the third machine
  • take the blue lump and put it in the oven
  • take the gold lump

Return to the lobby and take the near right doorway. Head down the stairs and use the big wedge on the wheel. Go through the door and give the gold lump to the dragon in exchange for an emerald. Go back to the wizard's lab (outside through the lower blue room, up the ladder, left and straight ahead). Put the emerald in the machine. Now you need to make sure whichever switch the wizard is not currently standing next to is flipped to the down position. Either flip the free switch to down, or talk to the princess to waste time. When the wizard starts dancing for joy, steal the emerald back.

Castle Tower

Go back to the lobby, then go to the top right and into the wizard's office. Talk to him until he decides to kill you, then return to the lobby and go through the tower door. Talk to the pirate on the stairs, then go back to the lobby. Head through the far left door and go all the way to the island with the skeleton. Talk to the bird, then return to the tower. Talk to the pirate again and he will disappear. Go further up the stairs and talk to Death. Return down the stairs and head to the lower blue room. Talk to Valentino and you will end up with the Medallion of Courage. Go back up the stairs to Death and use the medallion on yourself. Talk to Death again, then pick up the knitting needles.

Go back downstairs and through the far left door. Combine the knitting needles with the red yarn to make a magic carpet. Use this on the broken floor and go through the far door. Click on the skeleton, then take the bone. Go back to the lobby and through the far right door then down. Head left to find Cerberus. Give it the bone, then take the rose. Flip the switch on the wall here. Go back then right and along the corridor. Give the rose to the statue and take the dragon's tears.

Now go back to the lobby and all the way to the top of the tower. Throw the dragon's tears, then pick up the wizard's staff and free the princess. Quickly run down the stairs and through the near left door. Attack the remaining animal with the staff, then head out through the door.
