Case #1

Home

Switch to Joey and go and talk to Lauren to get her in from the balcony. Switch back to Lauren, and look at your list of cases (look specifically at each of the two remaining items). Pick up the camera and dictaphone, then leave your apartment.

Roosevelt Island Promenade

Switch to Joey and talk to the ghost. Try to take his saxophone, then talk to him again. Talk to Lauren about Johnny Ivory's, then switch back to Lauren so you can leave.

Home

Look in the phonebook on the coffee table and search for Johnny Ivory's.

Johnny Ivory's

Look at the photos on the wall, then in particular look at each of the people in the photo and the plaque beneath it. Talk to the piano player, who doesn't have a copy of the photo. Make a copy yourself, by taking a picture of it with your camera. Switch to Joey and have a look at the sheet music to see a name on it (Cecil Sharpe), then switch back to Lauren and leave.

Home

Look in the phonebook and search for Jambalaya Records, then head there.

Jambalaya Records

Talk to Dwayne, then show him the photo of the band to learn their name: The C Sharps. Look in your notes and combine "Cecil Sharpe" and "C Sharps", then talk to Dwayne again.

Johnny Ivory's

Talk to Cecil and he will give you the name of the sax player and a reporter with a surname of Mitchell.

Home

Look in the phonebook and search for the New Yorker to get the address. Now pick up your phone and call them to get the full name of the reporter.

The New Yorker

Talk to Joseph about everything you can and you will learn that Isaac has a sister.

Johnny Ivory's

Talk to Cecil about Isaac's sister, and he will get angry with you. Switch to Joey and look at Cecil to find out what the problem is, then switch back. Talk to Cecil about love, then keep asking the rest of your questions. As you finish he will mention a duet. Talk to him again about the duet and he will play it for you. Ask him to play it again, then record it with your dictaphone.

Roosevelt Island Promenade

There will be a second ghost here - it doesn't matter what you say to her. Play the dictaphone to Isaac, then say you're not his sister.

Case #2

Home

Switch to Joey and go and talk to Lauren to get her in from the balcony again, then switch back and leave the apartment.

53rd and Lex

Try to open the gate, but it is locked. Switch to Joey and go through the gate. Try talking to the ghost, but she ignores you. Talk to Lauren through the gate and get her to knock. Now talk to the ghost - you won't get very far with her. Enter the trailer, and look at the sign on the wall. Read the letter on the desk, making sure to look at the date, both paragraphs and the signature. Leave the construction site, switch back to Lauren and head home.

Home

Look in the phonebook and search for Seagram Realty, but there is no listing. Next search for Harriet Sherman, and call her using the phone. Tell her you are from Seagram Realty, and she will give you her address. Take the money from the rainy-day jar near the door, then leave.

Harriet Sherman's

Talk to Harriet, and you will find out about Mavis Willcox, and receive an envelope addressed to her.

Home

Open the envelope and look at the letter and photograph. On the photograph, make sure you look at the kid and his shirt.

The New Yorker

Talk to Joseph to learn more about Mavis Wilcox.

53rd and Lex

Switch to Joey and go through the gate. Talk to Mavis and pretend you are her son. You will learn about Sam and John Durkin. Go back out through the gate and switch back to Lauren. Look in your notes and combine "Sam" and "John Durkin".

Home

Look in the phonebook and search for John Durkin and Sam Durkin. Next search for Columbia University, and call them using the phone. Ask to speak to Sam Durkin, and tell him his mother was in apartment #3D. He will mention a gift he gave his mother.

The New Yorker

Ask Joseph about the gift from Sam to his mother.

53rd and Lex

Switch to Joey and go through to talk to Mavis again. Get her to look for the book, and she will end up passing over.

Case #3

Home

Switch to Joey and talk to Lauren to brainstorm, working out that Joseph Mitchell is guiding the countess in her actions.

The New Yorker

Talk to Joseph until he agrees to write an article about you.

Home

Switch to Joey and talk to Lauren until there is a knock on the door. Switch back to Lauren and open the door to let the Countess inside. Talk to her until she attacks you, then use the lit cigarette from your inventory to poke her in the eye. Now as Joey, back slowly away from the Countess and keep talking to her to have her follow you right out on to the balcony. When Lauren wakes up, go out there and push her over the edge.
